INTERPRETATION OF LANGUAGES

Introduction: God has given abilities and talents to all people. He has also imparted by his Holy Spirit some supernatural gifts to his church.

Each one of them is very necessary and important in the body of Christ. Let us try to serve God with all our hearts and may his Name be exalted above all things…

INTERPRETATION OF LANGUAGES

a) Seven of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit recorded in 1 Corinthians 12, seen in the Old Testament while two correspond only to the dispensation of grace, these are: various genres of tongues and interpretation of tongues.

It is very interesting to remember that at the beginning the earth had only one language and the same words, because of human obstinacy with the tower of Babel, God confused their languages and they spread throughout the world. Now, by his Spirit he gives the church the supernatural ability to carry his message even in other tongues.

b) The various kinds of tongues and interpretation of tongues are the gifts most related of all, 1 Corinthians 2:27-28.
c) A believer used by God with this gift of Interpretation of Tongues does not pay any attention to the terms spoken in the language unknown who interprets; the he simply looks at God as dependent directly on him to show him meaning.
d) We must guard the gifts from any attempt to reduce them to a natural level. The Gift of Interpretation of Tongues is supernatural and entirely miraculous.
and) We can see, for example, the use of this gift when a person speaks in various kinds of tongues in a congregation, and it is another person who, with the gift of interpretation of tongues, pronounces or declares what God said in tongues. Let us remember that this message is for edification, exhortation and consolation.

F) If we have to see any reason why the gift of various kinds of tongues and interpretation of tongues appear last in the list that the apostle Paul makes a serious explanation that they were the last gifts imparted to the Church.

For we see that the first seven gifts on the list are manifested in the Old Testament and also in the Gospels, but these last two were not imparted until after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
Conclusion: God has blessed his church with the gifts of the Spirit, it is necessary to learn to use them and exercise them for the glory of God and the benefit of the body. Let us not underestimate any of the gifts given by the Lord because each of them is supernatural and they equip and enrich the church of Jesus Christ.
