Worship God above your obstacles

Introduction: Problems or crises often wear out the Christian, and this ends up affecting his life of faith and communion with God. What ends up aggravating the situation, because of the anxiety or anguish of the moment, bad decisions can be made.

The best thing is, without a doubt, to go to the presence of God to strengthen ourselves in him and receive his direction and wisdom to do things well…

Christian sermons: Worship God above your obstacles

1) Set aside time alone with God (Revelation 1:9-11).
“I John, your brother, and your partner in the tribulation, in the kingdom and in the patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island called Patmos, because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. He was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, saying: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last. Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches that are in Asia…”.

a) The apostle John had been banished to that prison island (island of Patmos) for preaching the gospel. That was a difficult place and without comforts. But in that adverse scenario, John “was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day” tells us about the correct attitude in the face of trial. Juan was not filled with anger or sadness, rather he was seeking the face of God.

b)
In that environment and attitude he heard the voice of the Lord. Probably for us it was not the place where God would manifest himself, but there the Lord visited John. We do not know if he was alone or with other prisoners sent there, but he himself set aside to seek God and the Lord answered him, for our search for God will never be in vain.

c) This reminds us that even if our environment is difficult, even if we are facing great obstacles, even if we are slandered or criticized, and even persecuted because of the Lord, we must seek God and there in his presence we will be strengthened.

two) Worship is an atmosphere of revelation.
a) This book is called “Apocalypse” in direct relation to its main characteristic: revelation. The book begins by saying: “The revelation of Jesus Christ” Revelation 1:1, and that first word “revelation” is translated from the Greek “apokalupsis” which also means: remove the veil, reveal what was covered.

b) The Scripture teaches us here that John was worshiping God, and he was doing it precisely because of the revelation he already had about him, but now he would receive much more revelation from God. This reminds us that no matter how much we have or know about God, he always has much more to give us. On this occasion John receives the revelation of the risen Christ, of the coming judgments on earth and of the last events, etc.

c) Growing in the knowledge of God is vital. Through communion with him, in that environment of worship we receive that valuable revelation, let us remember that Jesus said: “And this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

3) Worship creates open heavens on earth. Revelation 4:1.
“After this I looked, and behold, a door opened in heaven; and the first voice that I heard, as of a trumpet, speaking to me, said: Come up here, and I will show you the things that will take place after these.”
a) Juan saw something wonderful: “behold, an open door in heaven.” In the Bible the expression “open heavens” indicates God’s blessing, powerful manifestations of the Lord on earth, divine approval, etc. For example, when Jesus was baptized “heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended”.
b) In the time of the prophet Elijah the heavens were closed and there was a great famine in Israel and its surroundings, this because of the idolatry of the people of God, who had stopped worshiping the Lord and gave their worship to the Baals. But when Elijah prayed and worshiped the heavens opened and the rain fell. The search for God is the prelude to the manifestation of the supernatural and miraculous of God.
c) Revelation 4:1 teaches us that this opening allowed or facilitated several things:
Hear the voice of God (God continues speaking, he wants to guide and bless his children).
John goes up to heaven (This tells us about supernatural experiences, new levels in the Spirit).
God reveals events for the end times (The Lord in a sovereign way shows John the secret things and kept for the end time).
John sees the greatest vision, verse two (The greatest revelation we can have is that of the One sitting on the throne, the heavenly Father.)

4) The worship of God is based on our redemption and destiny. Revelation 5:9-10.
“And they sang a new song, saying: You are worthy to take the book and to open its them; because you were immolated, and with your blood you have redeemed us for God, from every lineage and language and people and nation; and you have made us for our God kings and priests, and we will reign on earth.”
a) The worship in these verses allows us to see two fundamental reasons:
“With your blood you have redeemed us for God.” The mere fact of remembering that God forgave our sins through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross of Calvary leads us to worship.
Redeem means rescued, we were rescued from the government of darkness that previously afflicted us, we were freed from eternal hell where we were going because of our sins, he made us free from the chains and demonic ties for God our Father. All these are reasons to worship Jesus Christ our Lord.
b) “And you have made us kings and priests to our God.” Jesus not only rescued us from the kingdom of darkness, but he made us kings and priests to God. Jesus has raised us to the highest honors: kings (those who rule with Christ) and priests (those who minister or serve holy things).
Jesus has given us salvation, and took our wounded, wounded and captive hearts, and gave them healing, freedom and made us children of God, giving us the privilege not only to know and serve him here on earth, but to be with him forever. .
Conclusion: God has done wonderful things with the human being, all this for love. Every day he watches over us and blesses us, his eyes never deviate from his purposes. For all these things we must worship and follow him, there is no better path and destination than the one that God sets before us. Thank you Lord for your immense love.
