Jesus Helps Us Overcome Double Minds – Bible Studies and Outlines

Bible studies and outlines

(Bible studies and outlines). Introduction: As we can see in the same Scripture the Lord Jesus since he called Simon Pedro began in him a process of transformation in his character…

Bible study: Jesus helps us overcome double-mindedness.
John 1:41-42 “He first found his brother Simon, and said to him, We have found the Messiah (which translated is, the Christ). And he brought Jesus to him. And looking at him, Jesus said to him: You are Simon, son of Jonas; you will be called Cephas (which translated means, Peter)”.

The Lord knows the depths of our being and knows very well what our needs for change are. Let us trust in Jesus Christ, in his wisdom and power, he will do the best for us.
Whenever the Lord Jesus called “Peter” when declaring his name, He was reminding him that he would be a firm, faithful, loyal and persevering man in his faith and ministry. He would be strong and immovable like a great rock.

Conclusion: Before all this we can see not only the reality of the battle, but we also see that we are soldiers, equipped with weapons and the authority of God to win. Let us always keep in mind: Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.

As we can see, this man was the one who became the first leader of the Jerusalem church, Peter was also in jail for preaching Jesus, he was persecuted and tortured, he had enemies because of his faith and ministry, but he had been transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, he was no longer that fearful or inconstant man.
Peter was a firm and strong man who carried the word of God through Israel, Greece, Asia Minor, Rome, Babylon, etc. He wrote, as we well know, the two letters of Peter, he was the mentor of John Mark, writer of the Gospel according to Saint Mark.
That fearful, double-minded and inconstant man, according to tradition, when they were going to crucify him, he himself asked that they put his head down, because according to his words he was not worthy to die like the Master.
Perhaps we have difficulties with our state of mind, perhaps we are very much like Peter in his beginnings, but precisely as he was transformed by the Lord Jesus and was a powerful instrument in his hands; powerful is God to transform us and make our life a wonderful instrument for the glory of his name.

Conclusion: Before all this we can see not only the reality of the battle, but we also see that we are soldiers, equipped with weapons and the authority of God to win. Let us always keep in mind: Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.

Certain of this and faced with his failure, King David prayed saying: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10.

He too Psalm 51:7 “Purge me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me and I’ll be whiter than snow” reminds us of the power of the blood of Jesus Christ (the hyssop was a bundle of herbs tied, with the which too the blood of the lamb was applied to the doorposts to be delivered from the angel of death in Egypt, Exodus 12:21-23).

It is interesting to note here that when the Lord was resurrected, and the women went to the tomb, they met an angel who told them: “Go and tell the disciples and Peter that the Lord has risen as he told you”, in other words, I was saying:

“Tell them that Christ is faithful and powerful, he keeps what he promises, and he will make Peter a fisher of men as he promised”, and so it was.

Conclusion: Before all this we can see not only the reality of the battle, but we also see that we are soldiers, equipped with weapons and the authority of God to win. Let us always keep in mind: Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.

Conclusion: Perhaps we have left many things unfinished, and perhaps those decisions hurt us today; or maybe our heart is often afflicted by his lack of firmness in the Lord, let us pray to God believing and trusting in his power to transform our life, he will do what is best for us.
