(The Holy Spirit longs for your heart.) INTRODUCTION: We believe in a God alone, made up of three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit… is known as a composite unity; as for example in Genesis 2:24 “the man will be joined to his wife, and they will be one flesh” (a matter that implies very good knowledge of each other). A very important question arises here: how well do you know the Holy Spirit?

THE HOLY SPIRIT LONGS FOR YOU

Yo

I. The word of God is confirmed by the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:44

“While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the speech”

A. God moves through human vessels (that is, through people like Peter).

Comment: The Bible teaches us that what really God requires a person is disposition. We can remember that Peter was said: “he is a person of the vulgar and without letters”, that is, without academic or theological preparation, he was a simple and common fisherman, but full of the Holy Spirit and this is what makes the difference.

b. As Scripture teaches us, God is no respecter of persons.

Comment: The biblical text tells us that “The Holy Spirit fell on all”… the Jews considered that the blessing was only for Israel, but God was beginning his visitation to all nations; this teaches us that:

1. The moving of the Holy Spirit takes us beyond our own limits.

2. That He gives the Holy Spirit to those who earnestly desire it.

c. Listening to the word of God precedes the glorious manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

Comment: That is why the passage tells us: “these words…the speech”, and when reading Acts 10:34-40, We should highlight words like:

1. Gospel
2. Baptism
3. anoint
4. Holy Spirit
5. Power
6. Death
7. Resurrection;
And after this, the Holy Spirit is sent and begins His earthly ministry, becoming our Comforter and the one who enables us to do the work of the Lord.

II. The Holy Spirit is sovereign God, and acts as he wants. Acts 10:45-46

“And the faithful of the circumcision who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out on the Gentiles, because they heard them speaking with other tongues and magnifying God.”

A. The Holy Spirit is a divine person

Comment: The Holy Spirit is God Almighty, thinks, feels, speaks, guides us, reproves, is Lord, strengthens and sanctifies us, etc.

b. Wish the Holy Spirit fill you with his power

1. He longs for you, James 4:5 tells us, Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain: “The Spirit whom he has caused to dwell in us jealously yearns for us”? “yearns” translates from the Greek term “Epipotheo” which also means: love, great desire, deep longing.

2. The Holy Spirit longs clothe you with his power (the anointing), that is why we can read in the Bible about Jesus: “as God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with power and with the Holy Spirit”, the anointing is the active power of God manifested through his sons.

3. The Holy Spirit can and wants to transform your life and ministry. (just as history was split in AC and DC the life of some servants of the Lord was split by having a real encounter with the Holy Spirit, for example Peter, John, Paul, in the history of the church and today of the church throughout the world.

III. The powerful baptism with the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:47-48

“Then Peter replied, Can anyone forbid water, so that these who have received the Holy Spirit as well as us are not baptized? And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they begged him to stay for a few days.” .

A. The word “baptism” is translated from the Greek term “baptisma” which also means: immersion, submersion.

Comment: Immersion: put into the water. submersion: put under water

b. Consider also baptism into the body of Christ

Comment: The Bible teaches us that when a person surrenders his life to Christ (the new birth), and it is by the Spirit introduced into the Church of Jesus Christ, which is his body, this is the one that will be raised in the snatch. All believers are sealed with the Holy Spirit, they become His temple.

c. About water baptism.

Comment: Water baptism is an act in obedience to the Great Commission.”go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you every day, until the end of the world. Amen” Matthew 28:19-20.

Comment: When you decide to obey God, the Lord blesses you. don’t delay God’s blessings for your life. When the Lord Jesus was baptized the Father blessed him.

d Here and in other passages of the Bible we can see the baptism with the Holy Spirit. Acts 11:15-16

“And when I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them also, as on us at the beginning. Then I remembered what the Lord said, when he said: John certainly baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit”.

Comment: As we can see this is a Post-new birth experience, the Spirit imparts upon you a new level of anointing, of power to live the Christian life and serve with effectiveness and impact for the kingdom of God… this experience leads you to a greater life of intimacy with God. It is a new and powerful experience of renewal, restoration, challenge, power of God, among other things.

Final reflection: The Holy Spirit longs for you, he is no respecter of persons, he wants to anoint you, and introduce you to a new life of intimacy with God and take you to the supernatural. He wants to use you in a powerful and special way, he prepares your heart for the new things that the Holy Spirit brings to your life.
