INNER HEALTH

Introduction: (inner healing) Sometimes we do not understand why we are rebellious against God, or why we hurt our loved ones, or why we do not grow in the Lord… although Israel was the people of God, sometimes their attitude towards God was that of a pagan people , sometimes compared to Sodom and Gomorrah… why?

A genuine approach to God is essential, where we allow his work in the depths of our being. Let’s read this important study

I. WHAT IS INNER HEALTH?

A) It is a divine project that seeks the restoration of man.

Note: God has designed to restore fallen man and the creation that suffered the consequences of this fall in Eden. In the beginning man was completely spiritual (I mean his spirit governed his being), but with his fall he became soulish, a victim of his passions and feelings (losing the virtues of the beginning).

That is why man must be redeemed in his entirety, spirit, soul and body (This body is healed and will be transformed, our soul is restored and transformed, and our spirit receives new life and restoration, because the Bible speaks of the spirit some afflictions, eg “tribulation of spirit”, “breaking and affliction of spirit” and others).

This implies a work from the depths of man, from his heart (hence the expression “inner healing or healing”), we speak of salvation, restoration, healing, liberation, sanctification, etc.

B) It is a divine process (It is not something immediate, it begins with the new birth).
C) It is a divine treatment (It is a work of God; only he can heal and restore the heart of man, because after all he is his Creator).

II. RESULTS OF INNER HEALTH:
Note: We speak of an integral health = in the body, soul and spirit. For example: the lack of forgiveness produces multiple diseases (eg heart, skin, paralysis, tumors, etc.), we see a biblical example in Ana, Elcana’s wife (1 Sam. 1:1-7).
Note: A life that walks in the will of God, a life that radiates the presence of God. Holiness is the result of a healthy and restored heart.
c) A life of service.
Note: In other words, we will bear fruit for God, we will be vessels that bear the glory of God, that bear the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the apostle Peter said: “I give you what I have.” Inner healing makes us suitable instruments for God.

III. THE FOUNDATION OF INNER HEALTH:
A) The sacrifice of Christ, Isa. 53:4-5.
Note: Jesus suffered all this not only to give us security of eternal salvation in heaven, but to give us healing here on earth: “he bore our diseases… suffered our pains… with his stripes we are healed…”. This was demonstrated by Jesus even in his earthly ministry before the cross: Luke 4: 16-19, the phrase:
“He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted”
He speaks to us of a work within man (this is inner healing) in broken hearts, which according to the Greek term means that they have been torn to pieces, spoiled, broken, completely defeated… As well as when he speaks of freeing the captives and oppressed, does not speak of physical prisons, but spiritual… (Many things in our lives caused the brokenness or wounds of the heart, and emotional imprisonment).

b) The Word of God, Ps. 107:20 and Heb. 4:12.
Note: The Word of God produces life, is sharp (like a scalpel that cuts the tumors of sin), generates order in the structure of the human being (spirit, soul and body) and brings to light the bad intentions of our hearts…
c) The supernatural action of the Holy Spirit, Is. 61:1-4.
Note: This passage expresses the will of God for his people: healing of heart, physical healing, freedom for those who are in spiritual prisons, consolation, joy, rebuilding, restoration… Today we are in the ministry of the Holy Spirit and this is what he wants to bring his people.
Reflection: God wants to work in the depths of your heart, bring freedom, healing, restoration and order to your heart, he requires a sincere, genuine, humble approach that recognizes your condition and need, the Holy Spirit wants to help you. Let us allow God to do his work in us. In Jesus Christ we find inner healing.

(We invite you to read: God will always help you. ).

We can see inner healing and its importance in the life of Joseph the son of Jacob: “Joseph recognized his brothers as soon as he saw them; but he pretended that he did not know them, and speaking harshly to them he said to them: Where have you come from?… From Canaan, to buy food… and he said to them: You are spies” Genesis 42: 7,9.

The Bible teaches us that Joseph has had a wonderful backing from God. In such a way that he was now the ruler of the earth, he was the one who sold wheat to all the peoples (Genesis 42: 6). He was a man of power and authority, the pharaoh had complete confidence in him.
So from the normal and natural point of view José was in his best time. However, his brothers appear and bring with them the sad and painful memories of José’s adolescence and the difficult relationships between them.
Like any person, José reacts to the presence of his brothers according to the wounds produced years ago (pain and wounds that had not been healed), some twenty-two years had passed, and José treated them as the Bible teaches with indifference, harshness, he also accuses them of being spies and finally sent them to jail for three days (Genesis 42:17).
This allows us to see that the passage of time does not heal the wounds by itself, because the one who really heals the wounds of the heart is called Jesus Christ, it is he who with his power and love brings inner healing.
The reactions that we can see in José are a mirror of ours when we have not healed our hearts, that is, when we have not forgiven. The indifference (“he acted as if he did not know them”) with which he tries to ignore reality, the harshness (“speaking harshly”) with which he seeks to demonstrate the absence of any weakness, and the false accusation and imprisonment of his brothers .

(We invite you to read: God brings the best for your life. ).
These are acts with which he probably wanted them to feel the pain that he experienced years ago when they threw him into a cistern (these are the desires for revenge or self-justice, very hidden in the wounded heart, as well as those desires for another’s failure for the injustices received).
It is very interesting to see that it is possible to live, achieve success and great goals, and even manage to govern with a wounded heart. Despite those great achievements Joseph required the healing of his heart, and it is God Himself who sets the stage.
No matter how much power or anointing you become, or how prosperous you become, or what levels of authority the Lord allows you to reach, we will always be learning and being processed by the powerful and kind hands of the Potter, who shapes to the vessel as he wants.
It is very important that inner healing comes to the heart of the son of God, that he accepts and assimilates it, because otherwise the wounded heart will harm those under his direction, due to his emotional insecurity it will cause desertion in his ranks and will lead to chaos and failure to those he leads (this is his family, church, company, ministry, among others).
Conclusion: Forgiveness is a lifestyle, it brings us closer to God, it frees us from bitterness, from sadness and brings healing and freedom. Inner healing leads us along the path of divine purpose, and that healing, that freedom, will be greater and greater and like a balm from the healing and restorative God, who drives and strengthens us to continue along the path of the call of the Lord Jesus.
