HOW TO MOVE FORWARD IN GOD’S PLAN FOR MY LIFE

Introduction: Every parent seeks the well-being of their children. God has the best for his own. Frequently we come across obstacles that not only hinder progress, but often manage to discourage the heart of the Christian and he ends up giving up his dreams.

It is necessary to recognize and accept that the Lord is very interested in your advancement and growth, that is why over and over again he tells you: “Do not be afraid, I am with you. Strive and be brave”…

HOW CAN I ADVANCE IN GOD’S PLAN FOR MY LIFE?

1) The Lord requires a sensitive ear (Numbers 10:1-2).
Comment 1: God commands to build two silver trumpets. Gold in the Bible represents divinity (Jesus has a gold belt on his chest, the heavenly city is pure gold, etc). Bronze represents judgment (eg the sacrificial altar in the temple was bronze). Silver in the Bible is a symbol of redemption (price paid to buy a life, for example slaves, Joseph the son of Jacob and Jesus himself were sold for silver coins).

Comment 2: The silver trumpets would sound to: summon the people of God and to mobilize the camps. The convocation was given by the need to give God’s instructions to the people and when the camps had to be moved to another place by direction of the Lord. They also played them when they went to war and Dio remembered his people to give them victory.

Comment 3: In this way we also see that the Lord will sound his trumpet to gather his church and take them to their final destination: heaven “the Lord himself with a commanding voice, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, will descend from heaven; and the dead in Christ will rise first.

Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will be with him forever” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.
Comment 4: God today continues to sound his trumpets today. Numbers 10:8a tells us: “And the sons of Aaron, the priests, will blow the trumpets” This makes us see that God uses his servants as trumpets to make his message known and summons his people to pray, fast and worship his name.
two) Seek to follow the testimony of the Holy Spirit (Numbers 10:11-12).
Comment 1: The cloud represents the presence of God. This cloud rested on the tabernacle of meeting. Every time it rose, the Lord indicated that it was time to collect his furniture, including the tabernacle, and advance towards the destiny that God traced for them until they reached the promised land.

In the same way we must keep in mind that our citizenship is heavenly, that we are foreigners and pilgrims on this earth and that our destiny is the heavenly city where we will be forever with the Lord.
Comment 2: When we follow God’s direction he leads us to the best places and moments of our life. Verse twelve tells us that they went from Sinai to Paran. Their names are significant here, since Sinai means enmity and Paran means: glory, beauty.

Then the difficulties that occurred on the shores of Mount Sinai (the golden calf, the rebellion and murmuring of Israel, etc.) are left behind by obeying God and arrive at a place of glory and beauty, a place of blessing for the people of God. That’s why follow the direction of the Lord and he will lead you to the blessing that he has designed for your life.
3) Move forward with certainty in the power of the Lord (Numbers 10:14a).
Comment: Israel must march or advance through the desert and God tells them how to do it. This model is very valid from the point of view of spiritual applications for us today. Let’s see:
a) The term “Judah” means: praise and confession (By marching first, this tribe reminds us of the power and importance of praise. For this is how we will cross the deserts of life. Praise God even if there are difficulties, because praising the Lord will lift you above problems.

Confess the word of God and do not complain or murmur, because of murmuring Israel went around the desert for forty years, but the word of the Lord has the power to fulfill what it is sent for, that is why the Scripture says: “He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their ruin”).
b) It is essential to advance in God’s times (Israel moved when the cloud moved, not when it seemed to them. They marched in the order established by God and not according to their own thinking).
c) When we walk in the will of the Lord we will count on his support and power (The Bible tells us: “Judah marched first with his armies” being the largest tribe it had the largest army and it went ahead; this reminds us that by doing the will of the Lord his power and his glory will go before us and the enemy will not prevail).
4) The main objective is that Christ be glorified.
Comment 1: As we consider the entire chapter we see that the tribes were arranged in four groups of three (for a total of twelve) and each group carried a flag (each with a spiritual application for us today).

It is interesting to keep in mind here that the life of Jesus is revealed in all four gospels. Let’s see what Jewish tradition teaches about the four flags:
a) The flag of Judah (Numbers 10:14): purple (lit red) and had the image of a lion, highlighting royalty. How interesting to keep in mind that the Gospel of Matthew presents Jesus as king, that’s why he was called “son of David” being this a royal title. Christ will establish his rule on earth as King of kings and Lord of lords.
b) Reuben’s flag (Numbers 10:18): crimson (dark red – blackish) in color and had a man’s face. In this case, it reminds us of the Gospel of Luke that presents Jesus as a man, that is why he is called “the Son of Man”.

The one who identifies with us in everything and therefore understands and helps us, the one who shed his blood for us.
c) The flag of Ephraim (Numbers 10:22): it had the image of an ox (symbol of work and service). In this case, it reminds us of the Gospel of Mark that presents Jesus as a servant, which is why it is taught that the main verse of this gospel is “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many.” ”.
d) Dan’s flag (Numbers 10:25): blue in color and had the image of an eagle. It reminds us of the Gospel of John that presents Jesus as having come from heaven (hence the blue and the eagle). It is God who out of love became man and dwelt among us.
Comment 2: It is very interesting to remember that in the vision of the prophet Ezekiel (chapter one) he sees four living beings and their faces were: the face of a man, the face of a lion, the face of an ox and the face of an eagle, so we can say that heaven and earth give testimony of Jesus Christ the Lord.

That is why Jesus also said to the scribes and Pharisees “Search the Scriptures because they bear witness to me.” The twelve tribes marched following Christ fifteen hundred years (approx.) before he was born in Bethlehem. In that way and in that order Israel had to march not only to reach the promised land but to conquer it.
Conclusion: God wants to go before his people, he wants to guide his children and lead them to the best destiny, to the fulfillment of the purpose for their lives. He tries to honor God in everything, glorify his name and he will bless you, because God honors those who honor him.
