This diamond is formed from different complex combinations of carbon atoms resulting, through a tedious length, the precious mineral. This diamond presents an endless number of physical characteristics, among which its hardness stands out. Diamond is one of the hardest materials out there.
When we see the diamond in the light of the word of God, it is compared to the hearts of people, it is similar to diamonds, since on the one hand it can radiate beauty, but it can also be very hard.
In the Holy Scriptures, it can be observed that the diamond is compared to the heart when it hardens and leaves aside the spiritual principles and the commandments of the Lord, as observed in the book of Zechariah 7:12:
“and they set their hearts like a diamond, so as not to hear the law or the words that the Lord of hosts sent by his Spirit, through the first prophets; therefore great wrath came from the LORD of hosts.” (Zechariah 7:12)

They were appointed by Jehovah of hosts to announce words of repentance to this people.

“And the Lord said to Moses: When you return to Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders that I have put in your hand; but I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go.” (Exodus 4:21).
In this way, God revealed his signs and wonders before Pharaoh, but he had his understanding closed, and his heart did not allow him to see further.
So he did not listen to the voice of God and suffered nine overwhelming plagues, but the tenth was the most painful, since all the firstborn of the Egyptian land died, and Pharaoh’s firstborn was included.
But still, Pharaoh only momentarily understood, as he let the people go, but then tried to charge at them again. He likewise paid the consequences when he succumbed with his army in the waters of the Red Sea.
They also suffered consequences in other bible characters who decided to harden their hearts and not obey the voice of God. The people of Israel were separated, the northern kingdom was taken captive by the Assyrians and they never returned to the promised land.
Also the southern kingdom, as Zechariah says, was scattered with a whirlwind to different foreign nations. The prophecy was manifested when Babylon expelled them.
So when we make the decision to disobey God’s commands, the consequences can be fatal. As seen in the word:
“But I scattered them with a whirlwind throughout all the nations that they did not know, and the land was made desolate after them, without leaving anyone who came or went; for they turned the desirable land into a desert.” (Zechariah 7:14)
In this sense, God’s blessing can be lost when we refuse to listen to his word and do his will and allow ourselves to be guided by his paths of justice.
The impact of the Word of God
