The great gift of John 3:16 | restored

This very popular verse of Scripture has become one of the most important in the entire Bible, why important? Well, through this article we will realize that the love with which God loved us is above all love, more sublime than the love that any person has ever shown us.

John 3:16 It has been one of the most mentioned verses in our churches, to the point that little mention is made of it. It is like when we as humans get tired of doing the same thing every day, however, I do not think that this glorious verse is to tire us, if possible we should always explain it to people without Christ, so that they understand its great meaning.

Talking about this verse requires a lot of time, but let’s summarize its importance:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

To explain the love of God at that moment of giving up his son, we first have to highlight the wickedness of man from the book of Genesis, in such a way that the apostle Paul said: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. The human being became an enemy of God, violating all his laws (Romans: 3: 23). So what is God’s love based on? The sublime love of God is based on the fact that even though we are sinners and hate what is good, forgetting the law of the Most High, even so, God with his eternal love loved us and gave his son for our sins.

The expression “in such a way” denotes an extraordinary love, since we did not even deserve the death of the son of God, because He gave up his son for us. Imagine, would you give up your son for humanity? For those of us who are parents, it would be very painful to have to deliver a child to death for a certain plan. Have you ever stopped to think about the pain that God suffered for giving up his son for seeing him suffer to death?

A Pastor friend named Samuel Nina said something very interesting about this verse and it was the following:

«I thought that the greatest sacrifice had been made by the Son of God by becoming flesh and giving himself up for us, I was wrong, the greatest sacrifice was made by the Father by delivering the Son. Because if there is a greater pain than dying ourselves, it is the pain of seeing a child die.

The Father had to pour out his wrath on his own son, and all this for us, for our salvation. Do we need anything else? Isn’t this great act enough? Sometimes we claim many things from God, material goods, among others, but the question is the following: How many times do we thank God for this great sacrifice? Perhaps it is the most difficult question you have heard today, but it is the reality.

He offered his only son, but he did not offer him simply to see him suffer and die, but he gave his son as a ransom for our souls. He gave it up so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.

From the moment we have believed in the son of God, we have begun to live in eternity, because Jesus is eternity, at that moment the most difficult life on earth begins, to later live in a place that is more sublime than heaven. most wonderful place on earth.

The author of the Hebrews expressed:

How much greater punishment do you think will deserve the one who tramples on the Son of God, and considers the blood of the pact in which he was sanctified unclean, and does affront to the Spirit of grace? (Hebrews 10:29)

The blood of Jesus is precise, his sacrifice is unmatched, it is perfect, for the Father He is everything. Are you trampling this blood? Woe to you!
