Reflection on trust in God

Trusting in God is having the certainty that he will not fail us. Hard and uncertain times come to all of us. It’s part of life! What is our response to them? Do we continue to trust our Father God or do we allow ourselves to be carried away by sadness, anxiety and despair?

Trusting God in the midst of trials

We may think that once the decision to follow Jesus is made, everything is already settled. And yes, to some extent, it is. The most important thing is already resolved: our eternal destiny. We know that we will spend eternity with Jesus! But in the meantime, we are still here on Earth and life here is full of challenges. It is in their midst that our faith is tested. It is up to us to decide if we keep our faith firm, leaning on God or if we give up.

How can we continue to trust God in the midst of our struggles?

Come closer to God and stand firm

When we spend time with God and talk with him every day, we receive rest and peace in our souls. Approach him and take your burdens to him. But she also decides to go before his presence to listen to his voice and receive his loving and consoling hug. Delight yourself in the Lord, do not allow problems to overshadow your spiritual vision.

That daily relationship with God in the midst of any situation will help you move forward and strengthen your trust in the Lord. Don’t turn your back on God. Go before him, feel his presence and his care and you will see your confidence grow. The better you know God, the stronger your trust in him will be.

Read and memorize the Word

In the Word of God you will find encouragement, peace and strength. Do not underestimate the power of the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 says the following:

“Indeed, the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. It penetrates to the depths of the soul and spirit, to the marrow of the bones, and judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
(Hebrews 4:12)

Take time to read and memorize the Bible. Allow it to penetrate your heart, to help you see God’s perspective in the midst of the situation you are going through. His Word will give you clarity and calm your fears. Above all, it will give you encouragement and it will help you to remember that, although we may not see it at times, God is always at work. He doesn’t forget about you!

Even when an army besieges me, my heart will not fear; Even when a war breaks out against me, I will keep the trust.
(Psalm 27:3)

Psalm 27: Confidence in God’s Protection

Remember what the Lord has already done for you

Surely you remember other difficult moments in your life in which you saw God work. Remember those moments and thank God for his intervention in the midst of those situations. Trust that he will work again and intervene in your present situation.

Many times, over time we can see and better understand why God acted the way he did and at the time he did. Remembering those details helps us to wait with greater confidence and strength. What may seem slow from our human perspective, to God is the perfect time. Isaiah 55:8-9 says:

For my thoughts are not yours, nor are your ways mine, declares the Lord. My ways and my thoughts are higher than yours; higher than the heavens above the earth!
(Isaiah 55:8-9)

Learn to wait on the Lord! And while you wait remember his fidelity and his care for you through the years.

Trust! Verses to strengthen your trust in God

Think about the benefits of trusting God

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and puts his trust in him. It will be like a tree planted by the water, which extends its roots towards the stream; he is not afraid of the heat, and his leaves are always green. In times of drought it is not distressed, and it never stops bearing fruit.
(Jeremiah 17:7-8)

There are blessings for those who trust in the Lord. When we trust in God we are like that well-planted tree that has its firm roots next to the stream of water, its source of life. Without water, the tree will die, it will not be able to withstand the heat and it will dry out. In the same way, we are spiritually dead if we do not have our spiritual roots planted in God. God is our source of life!

Being firm in God you will be able to face the trials of life. His water – the flow of his Holy Spirit in you – will bring the needed relief at the right time, you can be sure of that. God does not abandon his children. He holds your hand, advises you and will guide you in his will until the end of your days here on Earth (Psalm 73: 23-24). How can you not trust him?

Someday, when you look back and remember the difficulties of this moment, you will realize that standing firm trusting in God made you stronger. You will recognize that listening to God and doing what he told you led you on the right path. Your faith will be strengthened.

conclusion

Trusting in God implies courage. It takes courage to leave things in God’s hands knowing that he will act and show us what is right. By trusting in God, we do not rush into it but wait for direction from him. We take time to listen to his voice, to read his Word, to draw close to him and remember what he has done for us.

Let us choose to trust God every day and in the midst of any situation. He has been faithful and will continue to be faithful, let us not doubt it.
