Biblical Reflections

Blessed is he who meditates on the Word of God day and night. We make available to the church of the Lord this list of biblical reflections (each with a brief introduction).

We hope that this set of reflections will be edifying and even be used for the blessing and growth of the church of Jesus Christ. Here is a list of thoughts:

CHRISTIAN BIBLICAL REFLECTIONS:

1) doHow to overcome difficulties in my family? We cannot hide or deny the reality of the difficulties or problems in the family, just as we cannot avoid the sad statistics of the condition of today’s families, we see how divorces multiply, many adolescents lead gangs, also many eleven-year-old girls and twelve years old are mothers, and the levels of domestic violence, the growth of the scourge of drugs, etc., are very high, and this reality contrasts with the will of the Lord for homes since the Lord Jesus Christ gave his life for all. The Bible tells us: “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your house will be saved”, fight for your family, the Lord is with you… We invite you to read this complete biblical reflection in: HOW TO OVERCOME DIFFICULTIES IN THE FAMILY.
two) When we have to live through times of difficulty, in general and by instinct of our own salvation, our heart reacts by quickly designing a plan to follow, whose objective is to overcome the problem we face. This is how the servant of God Isaac reacted, Genesis 26: 1 teaches us that: “there was a famine in the land” and he planned to go to the land of Egypt, because that is how people did at that time in the face of such droughts. However, the Lord speaks to Isaac, not only to warn him but to guide him to the place that God had prepared for him… We invite you to read the complete biblical reflection at: LISTENING TO GOD.

3) The patriarch Jacob had fled from his homeland because his brother Esau planned to take his life, since Jacob had taken his place and with lies he had received from his father Isaac the blessing of the birthright. Approximately twenty years have passed and during all that period he had not seen his parents, he was far from his friends and had lost his friendship with his brother Esau. But now Jacob would have an encounter with his brother… You can read the full biblical reflection at: GOD CAN RESTORE THE DAMAGED.
4) Jacob built an altar to the Lord, and this construction undoubtedly demanded work and effort. Let us remember that the altar is a symbol of adoration of the Lord and also represents communion with him. We cannot deny that communion with the Lord demands of each one of us a persevering attitude, great expectation and a continuous passion for God. This is something that is not built instantly, it is not overnight (that is, it takes time), nor is it the result of an accident or coincidence… We invite you to read the complete biblical reflection at: DELIVERED FROM ANGUISH.

5) The interesting story of Joseph, son of Jacob, has a very high value for us for all its teachings. The book of Genesis teaches us that his brothers planned to kill him, but in the end they decide to sell him as a slave to the passing Midianite merchants, after having taken away his beautiful and valuable colored tunic (we can observe that unhealed anger or resentment can become more powerful than the love for the family; they were his brothers and despite that they planned to take his life)… You can read the complete biblical reflection in: GOD IS ABOVE CIRCUMSTANCES.
6) Today’s biblical text teaches us the Lord’s supernatural blessing on Joseph in the house of the Egyptian Potiphar, captain of Pharaoh’s army, and the reason for that blessing is explained in the first expression: “But the Lord was with Joseph.” We see then that his brothers had rejected him, his father Jacob thought he had died, and he lived in a foreign land, but in reality he was not alone, the Lord was with him, and this was the most important thing. The Holy Scriptures add us: “and he was a prosperous man”, we must emphasize here that the Hebrew word “prosperous” used here is “tsalákj” which also means: push forward, succeed, achieve (words that let us see the attitude of faith, effort and diligence of Joseph, despite the fact that his circumstances were adverse)… We invite you to read the complete biblical reflection in: SUPERNATURAL PROSPERITY.
7) Today’s passage teaches us a new disappointment that José experiences. Being in the condition of a prisoner in the king’s prison (and by the favor of the Lord he attended to all the needs there), it fell to him to serve the chief cupbearer of Pharaoh, as well as the chief baker that the king had sent there , also interpreted the dream that each one had, an interpretation that was fully fulfilled. Then Joseph asked the chief cupbearer not to forget him there, but he did not remember him anymore. Surely this has happened to us too, that is to say that having helped and served others, they easily forget the favors received… You can read the complete biblical reflection at: FROM JAIL TO PALACE.
8) Joseph, the son of Jacob, has experienced the supernatural support of the Lord in his life. So now he was the Lord of the land in Egypt, he was the one who sold wheat to the entire known world (according to Genesis 42:6). He was then now he was a man of authority, power and the Egyptian king had full confidence in managing him. So, from a natural perspective, José was in the prime of his life. But, we see that all his brothers appear and carry with them the painful and sad memories of Joseph’s childhood and adolescence… We invite you to read the complete biblical reflection in: HEALING FOR THE WOUNDED HEART.
9) We can see a beautiful picture: the patriarch Jacob in his old age, Joseph his son, Ephraim and Manasseh his grandsons before him. So we see here three generations; When reading the Holy Scriptures we see that the Lord is a generational God, we can consider for example Moses to whom God said: “I am the God of your father, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob”. The Lord longs for each of us to follow him, and also all our children, grandchildren, etc. The Bible tells us many things about children, we can consider some for example… You can read the complete biblical reflection at: DECLARE BLESSING.
10) By this time, Joseph had already died and then a new pharaoh rises up in the Egyptian empire who did not know Joseph. The nation of Israel had grown greatly and they were numerous and extremely strong. The Egyptian pharaoh decides to subject them to difficult jobs, building cities for him. However, the Bible teaches us that “the more they oppressed them, the more they multiplied”… We invite you to read the complete biblical reflection in: VICTORY IN SPITE OF EVERYTHING.
eleven) We must bear in mind that the Egyptian king had decreed that every son of the Israelites that was born should be left without life, he had expressed: “Throw every son that is born into the river.” We can see here a constant work of the kingdom of darkness, which is to destroy the new generations that will serve the Lord; We see it here in the book of Exodus one and also in Matthew two, when Herod ordered the killing of all children under two years of age in the city of Bethlehem and in all its surroundings… You can read the complete biblical reflection at: GOD’S PLAN WILL PREVAIL.
12) By this time Moses is forty years old, and for about thirty-five he was instructed in the royal court of the Egyptian empire with the best teachers and professors in the known world. The biblical passage teaches us that “he went out to visit his Hebrew brothers”, we can see then that Moses knew that he was from the Hebrew people and that the oppressed nation was his people. Decades of study and education in Egypt, and training there, failed to dissolve his Israelite identity. This is very important, maintaining our identity as the people of the Lord above the circumstances that surround us or in the face of the pressure of the environment in which we find ourselves, because in reality we are “royal priesthood, holy nation, lineage chosen to announce the virtues of our powerful and only God”… We invite you to read the complete biblical reflection in: IT IS BY HIS GRACE, NOT BY YOUR FORCE.
13) Forty years have passed since Moses fled Egypt, and he had taken refuge in the land of Midian, now he is married to Sephora and has a son whom he named: Gershon, a word whose meaning is “I am a stranger in a foreign land” (Exodus 2:22), and that expresses to us in a good way what Moses was going through, that is, he was very far from his people, in a strange land, he had not seen his parents again, and now he lives with nostalgia in his soul… You can read the complete biblical reflection at: GOD HAS NOT DISCARDED HIS PLAN WITH YOU.
