When you stop and think about it, we are in the middle of several battles. Battles with the weather, our health or that of our family, our financial situations, relationships with our families and neighbors, and within ourselves. The question that is tormenting me is how to let God fight my battles? How to be sure that God fights my battles?; for Jehovah fights for us.
I have always been independent. It can be a blessing and a curse. It has often benefited me when I needed to do things on my own, but unfortunately it often gets between God and his will for my life.
God fights my battles, but how to let God fight my battles or your battles? Jehovah will fight for us
Could it be that simple? Just make our requests known to God and then LET HIM work? Will Jehovah fight for us? Does God fight my battles? Does God fight your battles?
GOD FIGHTS MY BATTLES BECAUSE THE BATTLE IS MINE, SAYS THE LORD
Jehovah fights for us, God fights my battles, God has not lost any battle
“The battle is mine, says the Lord”, is seen many times in the Scriptures, which makes me understand that God fights my battles. It was during my morning devotions, when the house was quiet and I was curled up on the sofa wrapped in my husband’s camouflage wool blanket, that God led me to read the story of Josaphat. With my hands wrapped around my favorite cup of coffee, a light began to dawn in my heart.
Jehoshaphat’s story teaches me that God fights my battles, Jehovah fights for us
Jehoshaphat’s life is found in 2 Chronicles 17-20, but we will focus on the story found in chapter 20.
Jehoshaphat is king of Judah. He is one of the kings who loved and obeyed the one true God. Several powerful armies joined forces against Judah, hearing this, Jehoshaphat goes directly to God.
“Then he was afraid; and Jehoshaphat lowered his countenance to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. And the Judahs gathered together to ask the Lord for help; and also from all the cities of Judah they came to ask the Lord for help. ” (2 Chronicles 20: 3-4)
Josaphat thought God fights my battles and with this in mind he prayed to God
Josaphat gathers the people and prays before the temple. I love how he proclaims his faith from the beginning: “And he said, Jehovah God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven, and have dominion over all the kingdoms of nations? Is not in your hand such strength and power that there is no one to resist you?” (verse 6)
He explains the situation to God and ends his prayer with the following: “O our God! Will you not judge them? Because in us there is no strength against such a great multitude that comes against us; we do not know what to do, and to you we turn our eyes “(Verse 12), Jehoshaphat is practically saying: God fights my battles because we don’t know what to do, because in us there is no longer any strength.
God answers the prayer of his people, because God fights my battles and yours.
“And he said: Hear, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat. Jehovah tells you thus: Do not fear or be intimidated in front of this huge crowd, for the war is not yours, but God’s… There will not be any for you to fight in this case; Stand still, be still, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you. O Judah and Jerusalem, do not fear or dismay; Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord will be with you” (Verses 15 and 17), God with us because God fights my battles, the Lord fights for us.
Did you understand that? God told them to “be still.” Let him work. How often do we try to solve our situations ourselves and don’t allow God to work? Perhaps if we want to know how to let God fight our battles, we must first learn to be still.
Jehoshaphat and all the people fell to the ground and worshiped (God fights my battles and yours)
“And when they got up in the morning, they went out into the Tecoa desert. And as they went out, Jofafat, standing up, said: Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be safe; believe the prophets of him, and you will prosper. And having taken counsel with the people, he appointed some to sing and praise the Lord, dressed in sacred ornaments, while the armed people went out, and to say, Glorify the Lord, for his mercy endures forever” (verses 20-21 )
Armies will fight each other, because God fights battles, God fights my battles and yours.
And do you know what happens? The different armies began to fight each other instead of forming a unified force against Judah. They fought and killed each other! The only action on Judah’s side was to praise God!, because God fights my battles, our battles just as he did with Jehoshaphat and all the people.
“And when Judah came to the tower of the desert, they looked toward the multitude, and, behold, they lay dead on the ground, for none had escaped” (verse 24).
Then they go downstairs and take all the valuables from the corpses. It took them 3 days to collect everything. God not only fought the battle for them, but further honored their faith and blessed them with riches.
“The battle is mine, says the Lord” (2 Chronicles 20:5) was not a simple declaration made by God to comfort his people. It was truly his battle and he was able to work because the people believed and obeyed, because God fights my battles, God fights our battles.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FIGHT OUR OWN BATTLES AND HOW DO WE INTERFERE WITH GOD?
The opposite of God fight my battles is trying to fight ourselves even though we have been told that Jehovah fights for us.
The opposite of saying that God fights my battles or that God fights your battles would be trying to fight ourselves. I think we should explore this too. When we fight in our own strength then we are fighting our battles, but when we depend on God and not on ourselves, then God will fight our battles.
You fight only your battles when you travel through life with prayer only as an afterthought, you know, the point where you are desperate. You pray, but you don’t leave your situation in God’s hands. You continue to worry and worry and problem solve.
You pray halfway. You know you should pray and leave it in God’s hands, but you just can’t seem to put your trust in Him. You read various books and devotionals trying to convince yourself that God is the solution to all your problems, but you can’t let yourself get to the bottom of it. point at which you step into faith.
Ask God for help, because God fights my battles and your battles, and then try to resolve the situation.
We must begin to understand the great importance of placing our situation, our wounds, all kinds of fear, anxiety and regret in the hands of our God, and then we must learn to let these things go. Moving away, staying still, because we already did what we had to do. God will do the rest. God fight my battles, God fight your battles, our battles.
SCRIPTURES WHERE WE ARE TOLD THAT GOD FIGHTS MY BATTLES, OUR BATTLES

“And you shall say to them, Hear, O Israel, you are gathered together today in battle against your enemies; do not faint your heart, do not fear, do not be astonished, or do not be discouraged before them; for the Lord your God goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you” (Deuteronomy 20: 3-4, God fights my battles)
“You, oh God, are my king; send salvation to Jacob. Through you we will shake our enemies; In your name we trample our adversaries. For I will not trust in my bow, nor will my sword save me.” (Psalm 44:5-7, God fights my battles)
“I will go before you, and I will straighten the crooked places; I will break bronze doors, and iron locks I will break to pieces; and I will give you the hidden treasures, and the very guarded secrets, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel that I name you. (Isaiah 45:2-3, God fights my battles)
God fights my battles, your battles. The call of Jeremiah. He had such a hard job, and yet his faith never wavered.
“And Jehovah said to me: Do not say: I am a child; because you will go to everything I send you, and you will say everything I send you. Do not fear before them, for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord” (Jeremiah 1: 7-8)
God fights my battles, your battles. The climax of the Exodus story, the parting of the Red Sea. Watch the “stay still”!
Moses said: Jehovah will fight for you, God fights my battles, our battles
“And Moses said to the people: Do not be afraid; stand firm, and see the salvation that the Lord will do for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you will be calm” ( Exodus 14: 13-14)
Therefore, the Lord will fight for you
“But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and keep you from evil” (2 Thessalonians 3: 3)
We need to remember that although we fight in the physical, the real warfare takes place in the spiritual.
ARE YOU WILLING TO LET GOD FIGHT YOUR BATTLES? GOD FIGHTS MY BATTLES! JEHOVAH WILL FIGHT FOR YOU
Always keep in mind that God fights your battles, God fights my battles, Jehovah will fight for you
As Paul writes in Hebrews 12:1: “Therefore, having such a great cloud of witnesses around us, let us cast off all weight and the sin that besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”
Are you ready to arm yourself with these stories and verses? Are you willing to let God fight your battles? Are you willing to sit still, pray, and let God do the work?
