Fear not, God is with you

(Fear not, God is with you). The word of God teaches us in a forceful and clear way that God’s presence is our strength, he is our shield, God is our refuge at all times. Psalm 23:4 “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.”

1) In the first place we can highlight the expression “I will fear no evil” reminds us of the importance of not giving rise to fear, fear should not rule our lives. Living under fear makes the person only expect the worst results; fear acts like a magnet that attracts sadness and failure.
As the Bible teaches us here, the evils can be many, but David says: “I will fear no evil”, because his faith in the power of God and in his care makes him continue forward, even though the road is difficult and has great obstacles. .
When you trust in God, neither the enemy, nor obstacles, nor pain will stop you because in Christ you are victorious, in him your foot will not stumble.

two) Second, we are presented with the reason for David’s safety. The fundamental reason for not fearing any evil is that David is confident that God will not forsake him, that is why he says: “Because you will be with me”, and if the Lord is with you, no one can stop you, the evil one will not be able to harm you , you will pass in victory the valley of the shadow of death, God cannot be stopped by any man or army.

It is important to remember here that in times of battle and when fear set in, God spoke to Abraham and said, “Fear not, Abram; I am your shield, and your reward will be exceedingly great” Genesis 15:1. Perhaps there are large and powerful armies in the world, but your best shield is the very presence of God, he is your defense, he fights for you.
3) Thirdly, always keep in mind: God is your strength and shield. When Absalom rebelled against David his father and persecuted him, in fleeing from him David prayed saying in Psalm 3: 3: “But you, Jehovah, are a shield around me; my glory and who raises my head.

These words of David are given in the midst of a great family conflict, but in every situation God is our refuge and strength. In the end the Lord defended David. God will always hold your right hand and that is why he tells you: “Do not be afraid, I am with you”.
