Finally, the sacrament is also understood as the “Sacrament of Reconciliation” because it reconciles the sinner with God and the Church, not to do it again.

We as Christians know that God called us to holiness; and we must be prepared for his coming. For that you have to live in the grace of God.

What is the importance of the sacrament of reconciliation?

When we speak of reconciliation we are saying that we have failed him; and in this you see the fragility of us, the human being. Knowing our fragility; and how we failed him. The church has left a cure or a remedy for everyone in order to stay in communion with God.

Many times we fall into sin, we falter and we fail God, the church sought to solve, through the sacrament of penance or reconciliation.

Reconciliation is important because it brings us closer to God; and find forgiveness for all our mistakes; and sins committed. We Catholics know that God is sometimes offended by our attitudes; and behavior, God does not forgive; but for him to forgive you you have to confess, for him to forgive you; and free you from your sin.

When we are aware that we have failed and sinned, we have to confess that we have failed. God shows the sacrament of reconciliation, in the beginning as it shows in the bible.

The Bible shows the sacrament of reconciliation

These verses show how sinful we are; and that God is able to forgive us of any sin. But the tax collector, standing at a distance, would not even raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying: “God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”.” Luke 18:13

For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, we will be saved by his life“. Romans 5:10
