psalm 37

PSALM 37

“From David Do not rage against the wicked or be envious of criminals, for they wither quickly like hay, like green grass they wither. Trust in the Lord and do good, to dwell in your land and live peacefully; Seek in the Lord your delights, and he will give you what your heart desires. Trust the Lord all your life and trust him, he will know what he is doing:

He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn and your justice shine like noon. Rest in the Lord, trust him, do not get angry with the one who prospers or with the man who handles intrigues; he leaves the anger, desist from anger, do not get heated, which is worse for you; for criminals will be exterminated, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the earth.

A little nothing more, and the criminal does not exist; you look for him in his place, and he is no longer there; but the poor will inherit the earth and enjoy total peace. The criminal schemes against the just and grinds his teeth against him; the Lord laughs at him because he sees that his day is coming. The criminal draws his sword and draws his bow to kill the poor and indigent, to kill the just; but his sword will plunge into his heart and his bow will be cut to pieces.

Little is worth more with justice than much wealth with injustice; for the arms of the unjust will break, while the Lord upholds the just. The Lord cares for those who practice justice, his inheritance will last forever; they will not be ashamed in times of misfortune, in days of scarcity they will not go hungry.

Those who live from injustice will perish, the enemies of the Lord will pass like the green of the meadows, they will vanish like smoke. The unjust borrow and do not repay, while the just pity and give. Those the Lord blesses will inherit the earth, those he curses will be exterminated. The Lord secures the steps of the man whose way is pleasing to him; even if he stumbles, he will not fall to the ground, for the Lord leads him by the hand.

I was young and now I am old; and I never saw the just man abandoned nor his children begging for alms. At all times he sympathizes and lends, his children are a blessing. Turn away from evil and do good, and you will always have a place to live; because the Lord loves justice and does not abandon his faithful; the criminals will be forever annihilated and the race of criminals will be exterminated;

the righteous will inherit the earth and dwell in it forever. The mouth of the righteous speaks wisely, and his tongue proclaims justice; the law of his God is in his heart and his steps do not waver. The unjust spy on the just and seek to kill him; but the Lord will not leave him in his hands or allow him to be condemned when he is judged.

Trust in the Lord and follow his way; he will exalt you and make you inherit the land, and you will see the ruin of the wicked. I have seen the wicked, full of pride, rise like a leafy cedar; I went by again, and he was gone; I searched but could not find. Keep integrity, practice justice, because for the man of peace there is a future;

the criminals will be annihilated at once and their descendants will be totally exterminated. The salvation of the just comes from the Lord, he is his strength in times of danger; The Lord helps them and delivers them, delivers them from the wicked and saves them because in him they have sought refuge from him.” (Psalms 37:1-40)

Against you, against you alone I have sinned, And I have done evil before your eyes; So that you may be recognized just in your word, and considered pure in your judgment. Behold, in wickedness I have been formed, And in sin my mother conceived me. Behold, you love the truth in the intimate, And in secret you have made me understand wisdom.

Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me and I’ll be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, And the bones you have crushed will recreate. Hide your face from my sins, and erase all my wickedness. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Because you don’t want a sacrifice, which I would give it; You don’t want holocaust.

The sacrifices of God are the broken spirit; To the contrite and humiliated heart you will not despise, O God. Do good with your benevolence to Zion; He builds the walls of Jerusalem.
