Moses: A Story of the Slave Prince and Prophet of God.

Moses is a central model. He is the man from the Old Testament most quoted in the New Testament, he led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, conversed with God and received the Ten Commandments. In Islam, Moses is loved and respected, he is both prophet and delivery courier. God names him more than 120 times, and his story is classified by several chapters. It is the longest and most detailed story of a prophet in the Qur’an and it goes into great detail.

“Origin of Moses”

The story begins when the pharaoh of Egypt finds out that the Hebrews, later called Israelites, begin to reproduce very quickly, so he orders the killing of all male newborns. A mother takes her baby and places it in a basket and throws it into the Nile River, that baby is Moses and miraculously found and saved. The Bible states that Moses was rescued by Pharaoh’s daughter and raised as a prince

Moses was the son of Amram (who was a member of the tribe of Levi and descended from Jacob) and his wife lochebed (cf. Exodus 2:1; 6:20). Moses had a sister seven years older than him, Miriam, and a brother three years older than him, Aaron According to book of genesis, Amram’s father, Coat, came to Egypt along with seventy members of Jacob’s descendant group, so Moses was part of the second generation of Israelites born in Egypt.

Lojebed gave birth to a little boy, and hid him for the first three months. When he could hide it no longer, he placed it in a basket, smeared with mud on the inside and pitch on the outside to make it waterproof, and carried it to the Nile. The basket with the baby was observed and closely followed by Miriam until Pharaoh’s daughter came to the Nile to bathe The Egyptian princess, henutmire/ henutmira, she discovered the basket and Moses inside it. Miriam approached and got the princess to order a Hebrew to nurse and care for the child; the Hebrew in question was the mother of Moses herself.

For two years lojebed she suckled Moses and then the creature was given to the princess. Moses was raised as the son of the Egyptian princess and the younger brother of the future pharaoh of Egypt.

Moses was raised as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. So, he had the chance to be trained in all the wisdom and knowledge of the Egyptians. He also had contact with his mother, and she could teach him about the one true god.

When Moses became a men, he saw an Egyptian beating one of his Hebrew brothers. Moses killed the Egyptian, because he thought his brothers would understand that God was calling him to be his liberator. They did not believe, Moses thought that he would become a revolutionary leader, but it was a failure. He had killed an Egyptian and had to flee to avoid him being imprisoned.

For the next 40 years, Moses lived in the land of Midian. Moses did nothing of importance during this period of time, yet these were not wasted years. They were very important. Has anyone observed that God creates things out of nothing. So when God wanted to make Moses a great leader, he reduced him to nothing.

the bible teaches that the shepherds were an abomination to the Egyptians. (Genesis 46:34) Therefore, God made Moses a shepherd. Moses, who had been an important and well-educated prince in Egypt, spent forty years as a shepherd. Moses had once been powerful in words and made in Egypt,) Acts 7:22) Now it was nothing. He had still forgotten to speak the Egyptian language easily.

At that time, God called Moses. God spoke to him of a burning bush. He told him to remove his shoes, because the place where he was, was holy ground. Moses.

God was going to free His people from Egyptian slavery, and it was decided to work through Moses to accomplish the task. Again, it is important to remember that the success of Moses was the direct result of the power of God.

Of course, the Pharaoh of Egypt did not want to free his slaves. He had to be forced to release them. God gave Moses the power to perform ten great miracles (A miracle is called an event attributed to divine intervention), Each miracle brought disaster on the Egyptians. These miracles are called the Ten Plagues.

The last plague was that of the death. Moses warned Pharaoh that if he did not deliver God’s people, the firstborn of all men and beasts would die. God told his people how to avoid this plague. On a special day, they would kill a lamb, and put its blood on the two doorposts of their houses. When the Lord identified the blood, He would “pass over” this house. When Pharaoh saw his son dead, he felt defeated and ordered the departure of the people of Israel. “Since then, the people of Israel, following God’s command, must proclaim the Passover festival every year”, sacrificing a lamb and remembering the day God freed them from slavery in Egypt.

Moses was a respectable man, but only because God used it. God inspired him to write the first five books of the bible God gave him the ability to deliver the children of Israel. Remember that Moses was one of the children of Israel, too. That was his family and his friends. This story is found in the book of Exodus.

“Moses On Mount Sinai”

In the third month after the departure of the children of Israel from the land of Egypt, on that same Day they arrived in the desert of Sinai. They left Rephidim and came to the Sinai desert, and Israel camped there in the desert in front of Mt.

Moses went up to meet God, and Jehovah called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob and announce to the children of Israel:

“You have seen what I have done to the Egyptians, and how I have lifted you up on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself

If you truly listen to my voice and keep my covenant, you will be a special people for Me among all peoples. For Mine is all the earth, This was the word of the Lord. and you will be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy Nation.” These are the words that you will say to the children of Israel:

Then Moses returned and called the elders of the people, and set before them all these words that Jehovah had commanded him.
All the people answered and said, “We will do everything that the Lord has said! And Moses repeated to Jehovah the words of the people.
Jehovah said to Moses: Behold, I will come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people may hear while I speak with you and believe you forever. And Moses repeated to Jehovah the words of the people.
Jehovah said to Moses: “Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.
That they be prepared for the third day, because on the third day Jehovah will descend on Mount Sinai, in the sight of all the people.
You will indicate a limit to the people, around, saying: “Beware; do not climb the mountain or touch its limit. Anyone who touches the mountain will die irretrievably.

No one will lay hands on him, for he will certainly be stoned or shot to death; he be animal or man, he will not Live. They will only be able to climb the mountain when the bugle sounds for a long time.” Moses came down from the mountain to meet the people and sanctified them, and they washed their clothes.

Then he said to the people: –Be prepared for the third day. Abstain from relations with women. It happened on the third day, at dawn, that there was thunder and lightning, a dense cloud over the mountain, and a loud bugle sound. And all the people that were in the camp trembled.

Moses led the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. All Mount Sinai was smoking, because the Lord had descended on it in the midst of fire. The smoke rose like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled greatly. As the trumpet blast grew extremely loud, Moses spoke, and God answered him with thunder.

Jehovah descended on Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. At that time Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses obeyed, and went up. Jehovah said to Moses: “Go down and warn the people, lest they cross the Boundary to see Jehovah and many of them die. Sanctify also the priests who draw near to the Lord, lest they Jehovah rush against them. Moses said to Jehovah: –The people will not be able to climb Mount Sinai, because You have ordered us saying: “Set limits to the mountain and sanctify it.” And Jehovah said to him, “Go, go down, and then go up with Aaron. But let the priests and the people not cross the Limit to go up to meet the Lord, lest he attack them. So Moses went down to meet the people and told them. (Exodus 19:1-25)

Moses climbed Mount Sinai and obtained the Ten Commandments on two stone tablets.

(Exodus 20:117), And God spoke all these words, saying: “I am Jehovah your God that I brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery (Exodus 20:3) “You shall have no other gods before Me. (Exodus 20:4) “You shall not make for yourself an image, or any likeness of what is in heaven above, or on the earth below, or in the waters under the earth. (Exodus 20:5) You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I am Jehovah your God, a jealous God who punishes the wickedness of the fathers on the children, on the third and fourth generations of those who hate me. .

(Exodus,20:6), But I show mercy for a thousand generations to those who love me and keep my commandments.(Exodus 20:7), “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold the man innocent.” to take his name in vain. (Exodus 20:8) “Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.

(Exodus 20:9) You will work six days and you will do all your work, (Exodus 20:10) but the seventh day will be Saturday for Jehovah your God. You shall not do any work in it, neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your livestock, nor the stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens, the earth and the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore Jehovah blessed the Sabbath Day and sanctified it.

(Exodus 20:12) Commandment with promise; “Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

(Exodus 20:13) “You shall not commit murder. (Exodus 20:14) “You shall not commit adultery. (Exodus 20:15) “You shall not steal.

In this (Exodus 20:16) “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. (Exodus 20:17) “You shall not covet your brother’s house; You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.” This last commandment refers to envy…(Exodus 20:1-17)

The call of Moses was important in the history of Israel, and the foundation on which God’s dealings with Israel were carried out. Trying and finding parallels between everything he did and the ministry of the apostle, and prophet would lead us to commit…
