IT’S TIME FOR RESTITUTION

Introduction: everything has its time, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to cry and a time to laugh, a time to be silent and a time to speak… God made everything beautiful in its time… this time is special, it is prophetic, God has planned it …

IT’S TIME FOR RESTITUTION
YO.
THE REALITY OF CRISES, Joel 1:3–4.
A. Israel faced several difficulties:
1. A plague of locusts.
Note: caterpillar, leafhopper, swarmer, locust = possibly the 4 phases in the development of the locust, or 4 different insects that attacked the crops, thousands that formed a dark cloud and everything was lost (vs. 10)… “the priests ministers of Jehovah they are in mourning”…
two. A drought, Joel 1:18-20.
3. The threat of an invading army, Joel 2:2, 9.
Note: Ehe Assyrian army was victorious, invading from the north.
b. The origin of crises can be earthly or heavenly.
Note:
for example: Israel did not completely expel the Canaanites in the conquest of the land, disobeying God, and the Bible says that these peoples became scourges and thorns for Israel, then we see a very difficult situation caused by themselves, by their bad decisions; and we see for example: that in Gén. 22 says: “God tested Abraham”… this new situation for Abraham was born in the heart of God…

App: Difficult situations appear in our lives, some caused by us, and others planned by God to take us to new levels of faith, anointing, revelation, ministry… the truth is that our hearts must assimilate divine teaching and must be sensitive to the calling of the Lord.

II.
THE POWER OF TRUE CONVERSION, Joel 2:12-13.
A. God’s people are called to genuine conversion.
Note:
What does “become” mean? from the Hebrew shub, it means to bring back, to return, basically it is to return to the starting point, it is to return along a path already traveled, it is to turn to God; and that is the true blessing, and that is why God tells his people: “Stand in the ways, and see, and ask for the ancient paths, which is the good way, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your soul”, Jer. 6:16.
b. For his love, God uses various tools to bring us closer to him.
Note:
let’s remember that God uses the figure of the clay and the potter, to refer to his work in us, he makes us the vessel he wants, and then he uses circumstances, people, authorities, crises, blessings… in this case he used the lobster , then the drought and the threat of invasion, to draw Israel into their presence…
C. A genuine conversion will take us to new levels.
Note:
when God designed you, at the same time he planned the best for you, sometimes certain elements present in us stagnate God’s plan, then he begins a work through which he tries to get rid of us and we can move towards the fullness of his plan .

Let’s look at an example: the prophet Jeremiah, 15: 15, 18-20 the prophet had to convert and would be like the mouth of God… his messages would now have a new impact…“you will be like my mouth”… a new ministerial level, a new flow.

III. RESTORED BY GOD, Joel 2:25.
A.
Meaning of the word restore
Note: from the Hebrew Shalám which means: reimburse, remunerate, reward, reward, return in full; implies repair of damage or injury…

b.
The restitution in the book of Joel, 2:19.
Note:
chapter 1:10 reminds us of what was lost, and 2:19 tells us that God restores it, and adds: “and you will be filled with them”, meaning that when God restores, he not only returns what you have lost, but that gives you back much more…

Note:
the earth was the one who had suffered the most, and God tells him: Joel 2:21-22 and his people tell him: vrs. 23-27…
c. God teaches us restitution through various examples in the Bible:
1. Job lost his family, his heritage, his health… God restored everything and more, because the Scripture says: “The Lord took away Job’s affliction, and doubled all the things that had belonged to Job.”

two. King Manasseh, when he repented of his wickedness, was restored to his kingdom.

3. For example: Joseph, the son of Jacob, his person and his dreams… they tried to kill him, but God used him to give life to many; His brothers took away his colored tunic, but later the Egyptian king gave him his ring, made him wear clothes of the finest linen and put a gold necklace around his neck; he was left without inheritance from his family, but God made him ruler and chief lord in the Egyptian empire…

Conclusion: The plan of redemption is a plan of restitution, since the last Adam, who is Christ, came to rescue what had been lost; what Adam lost, Christ recovered on the cross of Calvary, and what was designed for the descendants of God, for us his children, the Christ of glory came to restore: government, authority, lordship, victory, holiness, abundance, peace…

What the devil has wanted to damage in you, what you have lost, the time you have neglected, the pain you have endured, today God tells you: “I will restore what the locust ate, I will restore what the drought damaged, I will restore what that has been lost, and my people will never be put to shame”… in the midst of all this restitution, God promises: Joel 2:28-29… the earth has never experienced the move of the Holy Spirit like today, new times are coming for our nation, for our city, for each church, for your family, for you…
