How to Heal Heart Wounds According to the Bible? – Faithful to God

The heart is the most important organ of the body, even in the bible we are told that we must guard our heart because life flows from it. How many times in it, we do not refer to physical wounds but to things that have made us greatly saddened and that they cause us heart wounds.

Many times when we lose someone we love, that pain affects us too much and we believe that we will never get over it. However, God shows us in his word that he has the power to heal the wounds of the heart.

God heals the broken heart

There are many things that cannot create heart wounds, one of them is an offense that someone has done to us. A friend can hurt our hearts and produce a wound so great that it is very difficult for us to overcome. However, the Bible teaches us that if we trust in God these wounds can disappear.

Resentment is something that can cause a lot of damage to our hearts, many times there are people who have hurt us and caused us such a great wound that what it does is fill our hearts with hatred. This can be a great evil for us, a wound that is contaminated It can lead us to sin.

When we cut ourselves, the first thing we do is clean the wound so that it does not get infected, we must do the same with the heart wounds to prevent contamination.

How do we heal a heart wound? Simple, in the bible we are shown the way in which we can heal ourselves from the things that hurt us. In psalms 147:3 we are taught that He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds..

Seeking God in the moments when we feel hurt is the only way we can heal these wounds. We have to take refuge in God and in his word to be able to understand that even if people hurt us, when we are in his presence, He will comfort us and in His love He will heal us of our wounds.

When we lose someone we love, we can lose trust in God with that person. However, we must understand that these wounds of the heart are one more test that we can only overcome if we are firm of heart and trust in God, pwe can overcome the pain when we are firm in itcomforts us and is a soothing for that wound in our heart that causes this loss.

Not only having lost a person, but also the frustration of having lost the job we dreamed of. Or different situations in which we lose things precious to us, generate wounds in the heart. But in the bible we are shown that he comforts us in those difficult moments.

In 2 Corinthians 1, verse 3 and 4 shows us that: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations, so that we too can comfort those who are in any tribulation, through the consolation with which we are comforted by God.

While in Isaiah chapter 57, in verse 15 it teaches us that God is on high being holy. But he is alsowith the broken and humble of spirit, to make the spirit of the humble live. And to quicken the hearts of the broken.”

Many times we believe that these losses that have plunged us into sadness, we will never be able to overcome it, but we see that this is not the case. In the Bible we are told that suffering is temporary and then we will see the joy of God in us. In 1 Peter 5:10

“And, after you have suffered a little while, God himself, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will restore them and make them strongfirm and stable.”

God is medicine for the wounds of the heart

the wounds of the heart when we suffer them we have to heal them just as quickly as when we have a physical injury. We already know that God is the medicine for this evil. Taking refuge in his presence, every wound will heal, since God is faithful and just to take care of our hearts. and every scar will be erased by his infinite love and power.
