Holiness befits your house (Psalm 93:5), preach about living in holiness, sermon on holiness
“Your testimonies are very firm; holiness befits your house, O Lord, forever and ever” (Psalm 93:5)
Holiness is one of the basic characteristics of our God. For this reason we are told that holiness suits your house. In reference to Him, the word holiness means “ABSOLUTE PERFECTION AND PURITY”. Only God is Holy in and of himself. But we see in the scriptures that this word is also applied to people or things that have been set apart and dedicated to the service of the Lord.
The word Holiness has a meaning that leads to two concepts: one that is Separation, and another that is Dedication.
Holiness suits your house, God is holy and wants a holy people
In the Old Testament we find that the people of Israel sanctified objects or people through a rite or worship ordered by God. Only God can sanctify or declare something or someone holy. God is Holy and wants a Holy people, Leviticus 19:2, for which we are told that holiness befits your house, O Jehovah.
In the New Testament we find how God declares a new people Holy, through his Word, his Blood and his Spirit; when by Faith we accept and obey.
Holiness is essential for Salvation (Holiness suits your house)
Holiness suits your home, it is necessary to see God
Living in Holiness is necessary to see God: This is part of the plan of Salvation. Compare the following scriptures: John 3:3-5 and Hebrews 12:14.
Through the New Birth, God offers us not only a change of life but a New Life, a life separated and dedicated to God, because as the verse we read at the beginning says, “holiness befits your house, O Lord… .”
Is Separation Necessary? Yes, it is essential. Sin separates man from his God, and only by separating from sin can that communion be restored. God calls us to Separate 2 Cor 6:17. God has called us to sanctification 1 Thess. 4: 7 Separate ourselves every day from sin, renounce our own carnal desires (worldly desires) consecrate ourselves to the Lord, dedicate our lives to him, and obeying his word produces as fruit: Sanctification Rom. 6:22

Let us seek sanctification because holiness befits your house oh Jehovah
For this reason he has baptized us with his Holy Spirit and has given us his word that it is true. The Holy Spirit imparts Holiness in us. In the dispensation of Grace, God writes his laws on our hearts (Jeremiah 31:33).
A person filled with the Holy Spirit, and who allows himself to be guided by the Spirit, each day is perfecting his holiness, because the same Spirit is teaching him and giving testimony that God is pleased with his way of living (John 14:26). Holiness is taught by the Bible, it is also taught by pastors and teachers Ephesians 4:11-12.
To live in Holiness, since holiness is appropriate for your house, the Word of God advises us:
1. Do not conform to this century: in Romans 12:2, that is, do not conform to what the world establishes. We don’t have to go with the flow of the world.
The question is not how close can we live to the world without sinning, but how close can we live to God, firm and sure of our salvation?
2. Abstain from all kinds of evil: in 1 Thessalonians 5:22, that is, everything that has a reflection of the world and its desires. Anything that gives an uncertain image, that gives rise to confusion or mistakes.
God wants a people who are jealous of what is good and who hate what is bad. Psalm 97:10 And Prov. 8:13 God hates sin and we must hate it too (Clearly it is understood that we must hate sin but not the sinner who must be treated according to the word of God).
What we need to live in holiness, because holiness suits your house, O Jehovah
To obtain victory in our Christian life against sin and live in holiness we need to understand these truths:
1. The Law of Sin: Rom. 7:20 Paul tells us that the law of sin that is in us is greater than the law of Moses and the law of our mind. In other words, Paul is saying that neither the law nor our mind will be able to overcome the sinful nature that resides in every man. The law of sin is also called the sinful nature, the old nature, the old man, the first Adam, and the flesh. But there is a law that is greater than the law of sin, and it is the law of the Spirit (Rom. 8:2).
Only through this law can man be free from the law of sin. When the person receives the Holy Spirit, he receives a new nature that he does not want to sin, but that has God’s laws and desires implanted in it.
2. Everyone who is born of God does not practice sin: 1 John 3:9. In other words, everyone who has been born again does not want to sin, does not like to sin, therefore they do not practice sin. Sinning and practicing sin are two different things.
3. Everyone who has been born again has died to sin: Rom. 6:1-6 Our old man was crucified with Christ through repentance, so that we no longer serve sin. We are dead to sin therefore we are free from sin.
So the advice of the word is: ´´Do not reign sin in your mortal body, so that you obey it in its concupiscences; neither do you present your members to sin as instruments of iniquity, but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments of righteousness” Rom. 6:12-13.
Romans 12:1-2 gives us another perspective of what Holiness is. We must live a life in such a way that it is acceptable to God, this is part of our cult (adoration) that we must pay to the One who has saved us. Living in Holiness is a way to praise and adore our God. Let us always remember his word when he says that “holiness befits your house, O Jehovah”, for without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Holiness in its correct perspective
Living in Holiness is not a life of slavery to rules or regulations. It is not just a question of not doing evil, but of being willing and alert to do everything that pleases the Lord.
Purpose of living in Holiness
1. To please Him who bought us at the price of precious blood and dwells in us. 1 Cor. 6:19-20
2. Reflect or project the image of the One who dwells in us, so that others are drawn to Him. Psalm 119:1-2
To please God with what we do
We need Faith (Heb. 11:6). All aspects of our relationship with God have to do with Faith. By Faith we come to HIM, by Faith we are saved, and by Faith we live. James 2: 17-18 says: ´´ So also the Faith, if it does not have works it is dead in itself. But someone will say: You have faith and I have works. Show me your Faith without your works and I will show you my Faith by my works. Faith guides us to obedience, so it must also be in terms of our way of living holy for God. Holiness is the result of what God has done and is doing in our lives through the faith we have placed in Him.
Living in Holiness is living in obedience and obedience is the best and most important demonstration of love that we can give to the One who loves us (John 14:15), for his word tells us that holiness is appropriate for your house, oh Jehovah .
Attitudes are a foundation of Holiness in our Christian life
A correct attitude is the foundation to develop a life in Holiness. The Psalmist asked God: “Create in me, O God, a clean heart and renew a right Spirit within me… give me back the joy of your salvation and a noble spirit sustain me” (Psalm 51:10-12).
True Holiness begins on the inside and is reflected on the outside and covers all aspects of life such as nature, thoughts, attitudes, behavior, conduct and even appearance.
In 1 Peter 1:13-16 the apostle makes us a “Call to a Holy Life” says… “You also be holy in all your way of living”
Our whole life and our being must be sanctified by our obedience to the Word of God.
We could say that the Holiness in our heart, in our thoughts and in our attitudes is the “Internal Holiness”, and the holiness in our behavior, conduct and appearance is the “External Holiness”.
There is no true Holiness in the Life of the Christian when his heart is full of bitterness, resentment, resentment, jealousy, envy or haughtiness. All or any of these things will produce a way of speaking, acting and even an appearance that does not reflect Christ.
If we honestly examine with the Lord’s help and see deep down in our hearts that there is a negative attitude, then all our efforts (including this study) would be in vain. But if we can bring our hearts to a correct attitude, until we feel a sincere and fervent desire to please God; then the rest of this study will only be a matter of listening with spiritual ears, to then be doers of the word, practitioners of the teachings and disciples of the good Master who has saved us out of love and guides us on the path of life every day. eternal.
External Holiness: it is a projection of God’s presence in our lives and of our growth in his knowledge and grace.

Holiness in our eyes: the eyes are the window of the soul, the light of the body. The eyes are the sensory organs that carry the most information to the brain. Every image that man sees is recorded in the brain. What a man sees and hears determines his thinking and according to his thinking such is he (Prov. 23:7).
What man sees has a powerful influence on his thinking. Psychologists say that 90% of our thoughts are stimulated by sight. This is why the Lord said that according to the condition of our eyes will be the condition of our whole body (Matthew 6:22-23).
Many temptations are presented to us through our eyes. Examples Eve saw and coveted, took and sinned. David saw and coveted, took and sinned. Achan she saw and coveted, took and sinned.
