Genesis 36

1 This is the story of Esau’s family, which is Edom.

two Esau married women from Canaan: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah, daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite;

3 and also with Basemath, daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.

4 Adah bore Esau a son named Eliphaz; Basemate gave him Reuel;

5 and Oholibama gave him Jehus, Jalam and Korah. These were the sons of Esau who were born to him in Canaan.

6 Esau took his wives, his sons and daughters and all his household, as well as his flocks, all the other animals and all the goods he had acquired in Canaan, and went to another region, far from his brother Jacob.

7 Their possessions were so great that they could no longer live together; the land where they were living could not support them, because of their flocks.

8 Therefore Esau, which is Edom, settled in the mountains of Seir.

9 This is the record of the descent of Esau, father of the Edomites, in the mountains of Seir.

10 These are the names of Esau’s sons:
Eliphaz, son of Adah, Esau’s wife; and Reuel, son of Basemath, Esau’s wife.

11 These were the sons of Eliphaz:
Teman, Omar, Zefo, Gaetan and Kenaz.

12 Eliphaz, son of Esau, had a concubine named Timnah, who bore him a son named Amalek. These were the grandchildren of Adah, Esau’s wife.

13 These were the sons of Reuel:
Naath, Zerah, Shamah and Miza. These were the grandchildren of Basemath, Esau’s wife.

14 These were the children of Oholibamah, Esau’s wife, daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon, whom she gave to Esau:
Jeush, Jalão and Korah.

15 These were the chiefs among Esau’s descendants:
The sons of Eliphaz, Esau’s eldest son:
Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,

16 Korah, Gaetan and Amalek. These were the chiefs descending from Eliphaz in Edom; They were Ada’s grandchildren.

17 These were the sons of Reuel son of Esau:
The chiefs Naate, Zerá, Samá and Mizando. These were the chiefs descending from Reuel in Edom; grandchildren of Basemath, Esau’s wife.

18 These were the sons of Oholibamama, Esau’s wife:
The chiefs Jehus, Jalam and Korah. These were the chiefs who were descendants of Oolibamama, wife of Esau, daughter of Anah.

19 These were the sons of Esau, which is Edom, and these were their leaders.

20 These were the sons of Seir the Horite, who were inhabiting that region: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeam, and Anah,

21 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These sons of Seir were leaders of the Horites in the territory of Edom.

22 These were the sons of Lotan:
Hori and Heman. Timnah was Lotan’s sister.

23 These were the sons of Shobal:
Alvã, Manaath, Ebal, Shephô and Onã.

24 These were the sons of Zibeon:
Aiá and Aná. It was this Anah who discovered the springs of hot water in the desert, when he was taking his father Zibeon’s donkeys to pasture.

25 These were the sons of Anah:
Dishon and Oholibama, the daughter of Anah.

26 These were the sons of Dishon:
Hendã, Esbã, Itrã and Querã.

27 These were the sons of Ezer:
Bilam, Zaavan and Achan.

28 These were the sons of Dishan:
Uz and Aram.

29 These were the leaders of the Horites:
Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

30 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These were the chiefs of the Horites, according to their tribal divisions in the region of Seir.
