When we obey our God, we do things correctly. He is our God and savior, to whom we must listen and obey, because He knows all things, he knows the present, the past and the future, that is our God, creator of all things.
Something also happens when we are obedient, and that is that each of these things greatly benefits each one of us. That is why it is good that every day we are wise in the wisdom of God, and that we can carry his words in each of our hearts.
Obedience to our God is very important, since there is nothing else that pleases God more than obedience.
Obedience occupies such an important place that in the book of Samuel we find a great teaching about it:
And Samuel said: Is Jehovah as pleased in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the words of Jehovah? Certainly to obey is better than sacrifices, and to pay attention than the fat of rams.
1 Samuel 15:22
Why did Samuel say these words? Because Saul disobeyed God and after disobedience the people offered sacrifice to God. What Samuel wants to make King Saul understand is what is the use of offering the best sacrifices to God if he does not listen to God’s voice or does what He commands?
From here we can learn something and that is that we can offer God everything that we can humanly offer, but this will not help us if we do not comply with His Word and do what he commands us. Let us be obedient to our God, because this is one of the fundamental bases to achieve the salvation of our souls.
