Qualities of a Warrior of God

What are the qualities of a warrior of God? What attributes or states of mind are necessary to become a warriors of light? Here we answer these questions:

1. Consciousness

A warrior of God must possess an expanded consciousness. While spiritual practices like yoga and meditation enhance and accelerate the growth of awareness, a spiritual warrior must have the specific awareness to recognize that you are at war with the darkness of ignorance.

If you’re going to take the call of the spiritual war, you must remain vigilant because in the lack of awareness, ignorance will grow. When you pay attention to yourself (your thoughts, words, actions, and beliefs), you deprive ignorance of a fertile ground in which it can take root.

2. Courage

A spiritual warrior has courage. As explained above, the path of the spiritual warrior is not necessarily easy. You may face danger, fear, pain, and uncertainty on the path to spiritual mastery.

The warriors of god they move on when faced with adversity, doubt, inconsistencies, or the irrationality of their beliefs and behavior. This does not mean that you are not afraid; It means you’re sorry and move on. Deep down, you know that the lighting you seek is worth the temporary discomfort of the trip.

3. Discipline

Discipline is the ability to hold back, to control your impulses, desires, or emotions for the sake of betterment. It is important to keep in mind that this discipline does not come from some external authority, but that the spiritual warrior forges the fire of his will.

You make the difficult decision to pursue spiritual practices over the often more comfortable or conventional ways of life with the intention of reaching higher states of consciousness.

Discipline can also mean simply staying on track. The warrior of God knows there will be bumps in the journey, but when they do, self-discipline keeps you going.

4. Relentlessness

Relentlessness is another key attribute of the spiritual warrior. Being relentless refers to not being harsh or inflexible. Rather, it implies a persistent and determined intent to pursue false beliefs, attempts to deceive oneself, and delusions of the ego.

The spiritual warrior understands that ignorance is a tenacious adversary that requires constant daily attention so as not to let it take you by surprise. Relentlessness also means ruthlessly killing the 1,000-headed dragon of personal importance.

Your sense of self-importance can slow down spiritual progress and cloud your understanding of who you really are. The relentless search for opportunities to subdue the ego creates space for spirit to enter your life.

5. Cunning

The warrior of God is also cunning. As his spiritual awareness and discipline grows, the warrior of light recognizes the slippery nature of the mind and the ease with which he can be deceived.

You must be equally astute when it comes to outwitting their usual thinking traps and cognitive biases. In the space of expanded consciousness, you learn to anticipate the stories you tell yourself, the ways you hide from the truth, and how you defend your false sense of identity.

6. Patience

Patience is the next quality of the warrior of God. Patience is the calm acceptance that not everything happens according to your timeline. It allows him to be content and pause, wait, hang in there, and allow things to play out his way.

The spiritual warrior does not act needy. He does not pressure or demand that God comply with his wishes. Instead, he acknowledges that a bigger picture is unfolding; In the absence of a broader perspective, you can’t always know what action to take.

Therefore, you can be calm in the moment and wait for God to act. When the right moment is known, the spiritual warrior seizes the opportunity and takes the correct spontaneous and transformative action.

7. Sweetness

The warrior of God also possesses sweetness. Sweetness may seem like a strange attribute of the spiritual warrior, something associated with weakness or sentimentality.

In this context, however, sweetness refers to impeccability in word and deed. The spiritual warrior holds himself to the highest standard, refraining from anything that could be considered potentially cruel or hurtful.

8. Love

The final quality of the spiritual warrior is love. For the warrior of God, love is the main thing. It is the core of your being and the core of all other beings. Removing the obstacles to love is the quest of the spiritual warrior.

You exist with love at your source, but it is often hidden beneath anger, trauma, or suffering. Expanding the field of love both for yourself and for others is the ultimate goal of the spiritual warrior. Love heals all wounds.

What is a Christian warrior to do?

Believe it or not, there are many similarities to the Spartan soldiers in the and the plight of today’s Christian warriors. The Spartans were a people focused on war. The boys began the brutal training at the age of 7 and transformed themselves over ten years or more into the most decisive and efficient warrior of their time.

They were trained so well that their instincts developed enough that their army was merely an exoskeleton for their body, their shield as involuntary as a blink, and their sword an extension of their hand.

Their culture nurtured these warriors, and as a people they encouraged and immortalized the warrior in folklore and legend. Mothers were said to have told their sons and wives told their husbands to come home from war fully upright or on their shield. Withdrawal was not even given as an option.

I bring the Spartans because I want to help you understand the type of warrior we are called to be. I would like to work with you to extract key aspects of what should a Christian warrior do.

1. Know your commander

Many of us profess that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, but I would challenge you to admit and we both acknowledge Christ’s Saviorhood, and spend less time in the Lordship of Christ in our lives than anything else.

As a warrior, we serve a Holy General. Even our enemy recognizes Christ as the son of the Most High God. Before you can arm yourself or pick up a sword, you must fully, and I mean .

2. Know your enemy

In John 8:44 Jesus tells us about our enemy. In verse 12 of Ephesians 6, Paul tells us: “For we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in places heavenly.

“Church, we are not experiencing the trials of life, we are experiencing WAR! If you are a believer and follower of Christ, Peter tells us not to be surprised when trials and tribulations come your way. Now to be victorious in any battle, you must know your enemy and your weapon of choice Lucifer, or the devil we know is the father of lies.

3. Know your armor

Take the armor of God, to help you resist the bad days, and after you have done it, stand firm. Therefore stand, fastening the belt of truth and putting on the breastplate of righteousness. In all circumstances, take the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the fiery darts of the evil one, and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

It’s not part of the armor, the whole armor. Scripture is very clear that we must do all of this to stand firm. Paul also calls the warrior to stand firm. Like the Spartans, we must not back down. We must have confidence in the victory we have in Jesus.

When Satan attacks, he goes through our mind. He will tell you his lies and over time, you may start to believe them. If you have your helmet of salvation, all his lies will be forced to bounce against the solidity of the Gospel.

4. Warriors train continuously

The Spartan armies trained continuously, in fact daily. By doing this, they trained their body to fully integrate the training as an extension of their own being.

Verse 18 tells us to pray in the spirit every time and to stay alert. As a warrior for Christ, if you train daily under the direction of your Holy Commander, you begin to immolate what the warrior should look like in his army.

5. Fight two on two

Another notable strategy used by the Spartan army was their strategy to fight shoulder to shoulder or back to back. If you’ve seen the movie, you’ll remember that there’s a scene where one of the soldiers breaks out of range and leaves his partner behind, only to be decapitated by the enemy. Church, the same thing happens to us when we do not walk and fight alongside our Christian brothers and sisters.

If you are not currently in support of your brothers, you open yourself up for the enemy to defeat you. pray with your group and lean on them to rise up in prayer. Live life with them to help them in their battles and let them help you and pray for your battles. This is biblical and necessary. The battlefield of faith can be a lonely place, find a responsible partner, a partner in faith and move on.

One of the other notable attributes of the Spartan army was its phalanx formation. In this formation, the enemy could launch an attack and the first three ranks would block them with their shields and prepare to push forward. After a couple of seconds, there would be a wave from the top…
