What is a warrior of God according to the Bible, refers to a believer who is chosen by the Lord to fight the good fight against principalities and spiritual powers that want to disturb the work of Our Father here on earth. But although we all play an important role as an army of the Lord, not all of us are chosen to be warriors.

What is a warrior of God according to the bible
In the old testament, we can find the Lord as a God of militia. Therefore the children are warriors of God. One of the names attributed to God is: “Man of War”. So we can observe and understand how Jehovah intervenes to be able to free the people from him many times in battles.
When God ordered a war, he always had a chosen one, who was considered a warrior of God, and on him there was a winning anointing from the Almighty. We can appreciate this in King David, who is a clear example of what a warrior of God is.
This biblical character from a very young age had a revelation from God, who gave him a powerful anointing to overcome his adversary. It should be noted that not everyone enjoyed this particular anointing. In this way that when David faced Goliath, the entire remnant of the army of Israel was almost defeated and revolted to what the giant and the Philistines wanted at that time. We can appreciate this in the word:
“And it came to pass that when the Philistine arose and began to walk to meet David, David hastened, and ran to the line of battle against the Philistine. And David putting his hand into the bag, he took a stone from there, and slung it, and struck the Philistine on the forehead; and the stone was stuck in the forehead, and fell on his face to the ground. Thus David defeated the Philistine with a sling and a stone; and he struck down the Philistine and killed him, David not having a sword in his hand. Then David ran and stood on the Philistine; and taking his sword and drawing it from his scabbard, he finished killing him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw their champion dead, they fled.” (1 Samuel 17:48-51)
In the passage we can see how David, being just a boy, was able to defeat the giant Goliath because he had God’s anointing, so he was able to defeat him and change the destiny of Israel. In the same way, that anointing began on the army of Dio’s brave warriors, who were dejected and indebted men who hid in a cave named Adulám. However, once they saw the anointing of the one who became their leader, they desired it, welcomed it, and became great warriors of the Lord. As can be seen in the word:
“Then David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. Soon his brothers and other relatives joined him there. 2 Then others began to arrive—men who were in trouble or in debt or just unhappy—and David became captain of about four hundred men.” (Samuel 22:1-2)
Characteristics of a spiritual warrior
A spiritual warrior is one chosen to fight against the adversary who intends to destroy the people of God. He has a special and powerful anointing that allows him to win against the enemy. So not all of us have that calling. The spiritual warfare presents the following characteristics:
1.-The prophetic and apostolic authority
Spiritual warfare has to do only with the prophetic and apostolic spheres. In this way, each ministry has a level of authority and anointing that gives it the capacity and divine faculty to activate itself before the call that God is making to it.
In this sense, all are called and anointed, but not all have the same function and objective. Therefore, the limits of the feat of a ministry should not be confused, since it can have consequences, which can harm the body of Christ at all.
In this way, when a prophet is the pastor of the church, but does not have a pastoral ministry as such, the church will receive a word, which can be something strong and can generate a lot of confrontation. Therefore, the members of the church can feel a little isolated with respect to their particular needs, that is, they do not feel well cared for by their pastor.
On the other hand, if an evangelist wants to minister as a pastor, this can usually motivate evangelism, but there will be little depth and discernment in the word. In the same way it happens with teachers, pastors and evangelists, who want to address the areas of prophetic or apostolic authority.
In this case, complications can arise that put into play the serenity, harmony and cordiality that must prevail in a church, since there is no clear direction, which will lead to future problems.
2.- A heavenly selection
Having a spiritual battle is not just anything nor is it a game, and even less if it involves a high demonic hierarchy, for which reason only the warriors who are chosen for this purpose will have the necessary anointing to defeat the enemy hand in hand with God. . As his word expresses it:
“They will fight against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with him are called, chosen and faithful. (Revelation 17:14)
In this sense, God chooses his warriors and gives them spiritual weapons to defeat the forces of evil that want to disturb the work of Christ. But the loyalty of these warriors of God must be unfathomable, they must be valiant warriors whose faith surpasses all understanding. Soldiers of Christ whose priority is to leave the name of God high and fight the good fight until they are victorious. As his word reveals:
“They have overcome him through the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, who despised their lives to the point of death” (Revelation 12.11)
In this way, there is an obedience to the Lord that everyone can exercise and must do, fulfilling his commandments and having a good testimony. But there are orders that are of a high level of obedience, that command us to be chosen by Our Heavenly Father. Therefore, the mission of being God’s warriors should not be taken lightly, it requires a total and genuine surrender to the Lord, who will protect us from these spiritual hosts that will come to attack us with force.
3.- The heavens fight with the warriors of God
Those warriors of the Lord who have been chosen are under the coverage of Christ. In this spiritual battle there are two types of armies, the heavenly and the earthly, and these are interrelated and interact when God calls to battle.
In various episodes of the Bible we can observe how they act together. In this regard, Elisha, he experienced this principle, when he saw himself besieged by his enemies and remained firm in total peace, since he felt totally sure that God protected him. He knew that there was a heavenly court army fighting alongside him. This can be seen in the word:
“-Oh Lord! What are we going to do now? the young man yelled at Elisha. -Do not be afraid! Elisha told him. There is more on our side than on their side! Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open this young man’s eyes to see!” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and when he looked up he saw that the mountain around Elisha was full of horses and chariots of fire.” (2 Kings 6:15-17)
4.- Warriors of the Lord full of his light
The warriors of God are guided by the admirable light that is Christ, and it is this light that manages to dispel the darkness, as the word expresses: “…because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but powerful in God for the destruction of strongholds”(2 Corinthians 10.4)

God’s warriors are chosen and called to fight the good fight together with our Heavenly Father, who gives them a special anointing so that they have the necessary weapons to win. This fight is basically a confrontation between the admirable light of Christ and the darkness of darkness and spiritual hosts. As can be seen in the word: “In him was life and life was the light of Men, the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not prevail against the light” (John 1:4-5)
