We are this generation (Matthew 11,16-19)

Jesus speaks directly to our generation

When Jesus said: “To whom will I compare this generation?”; He spoke of the generation of His time. But today, He talks about ours. There will be a generation of the future, just as there was a generation of the past, but in a special way, He speaks to our generation.
But our generation is like this: “We played the flute and you didn’t dance; We played mourning and you didn’t cry.”

This generation doesn’t know what it wants, it doesn’t know what it does. Mainly our children, but also our parents, relatives, neighbors don’t know what they want, they don’t know who to follow. They are not to blame, because they were not evangelized, they do not know Jesus. And, therefore, they are like those children who don’t know what they want: nothing is good.

Our generation needs baptism in

There are others who had their personal encounter with Jesus, were baptized in the Holy Spirit and today they are fallen, weakened, defeated by their problems. I’m going to compare Christians today to going up in an elevator. There are very tall buildings, and to get to the top floor you have to take the elevator.

But even when you reach the top floor by elevator, you have to get out of it and walk to get to the desired place. So is the baptism in the Holy Spirit. God took me out of the hole, took me up there and does the same with you.

I’m sure your story is the same or similar to mine. Even if you are not a bad person, but you were like the children in the Gospel. In a way, he is part of a generation that doesn’t know what it wants, like sheep without a shepherd.
And the baptism in the Holy Spirit is like the elevator: when we get to the top, we feel great and, with baptism, gifts also come. And, to continue the path, we must walk a lot, “work hard”. Because of this, many started to settle down and now they are all “dodols”, where any little problem puts them on the floor.

We wanted the Lord to take us out of problems, but we have to understand that problems will always exist; and what we need to do is face them with the virtue of the Holy Spirit. And how many of us have gotten bogged down in small problems. I’m not belittling your problems, but we are becoming “soft”.

“From the days of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom of Heaven has suffered violence, and it is the violent who conquer it” (Mt 11:16)

It is not violence against others, it is violence towards oneself, which faces difficulties head on, because we will always have problems.

Problems will always prove insurmountable, telling you that you are not capable, because it is a problem. But remember that you were filled with the Holy Spirit when you were “lifted up in the elevator,” baptized by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, because of the Holy Spirit you are consecrated.

Theologians say that the couple is consecrated by the Sacrament of Matrimony. Therefore, not only one is consecrated, but both. Even if you married a “turd” or a hysteric, you are a . If you have been confirmed or baptized you are consecrated.

If God is for us, who will be against us?

It will challenge you and deceive you by saying that you will not be able to overcome it, but this is not true, because you are full of the Holy Spirit. And I tell you: “You can look your problems in the face, because you are consecrated”. And maybe, because you know this, you think that God will take the problem away from you, but He won’t. It will empower you to overcome each day.

You are consecrated, to prepare the second coming of the Lord Jesus. Do you understand why you need to have tempering? Why can’t you be soft? I’m not criticizing you. I’m just playing the “role of the problem”, so that you can use the strength of God that is within you.

Wake up, son, get up! You have virtue, you have temper. Problem you will always have, but you are a watchman waiting for the second coming of the Lord.
