It is translated reproach in Rom 14:16 “Let not therefore your good be reproached”; see BLASPHEMING, B, and also CALUMNIATE, CENSOR, SAY, DEFAMAR, SPEAK, INJURY, OUTRAGE. 2. oneidizo (ojneidivzw, 3679), related to oneidismos (see VITUPERIO, below), and oneidos (see AFFRENTA, B), means: (a) in the active voice, censure, reproach (Mat 5:11 “vituperen” ; 11.20, “rebuke”; 27.44: “rebuked”; Mc 15.32: “rebuked”; 16.14: “reproached”; Luk 6:22 “reproached”; Rom 15:3 “who reviled you”; Jam 1:5 “without reproach”; VHA: “do not zahiere”); in the passive voice, suffer reproach, be reproached (1Ti 4:10, TR: “we suffer reproaches”; 1Pe 4:14 “you are reproached”).
