Tips to eliminate anger

I don’t know if you’ve ever come across someone who thinks getting angry is a sin. It is even possible that you think that, and to top it off you live with guilt because you may get angry from time to time. Now I share some tips to eliminate the anger that makes you sin.

I tell you that I was a slave to anger for many years, I don’t remember exactly since when. In my family I had the label of “annoyed”.

My dad always told me that they couldn’t “touch me even with the point of a long stick,” because I would immediately get angry. And I believed it and lived with that devil’s lie about my life.

Only the grace of God and his powerful Word has freed me and has been transforming my character.

To know more about anger see the topic: Beware of anger!

If you struggle with this problem, if anger causes you to quickly lose control… Or as it is commonly said “you are short fuse”; you need to know the truth about this subject so that you can be free.

The Bible says, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32 NLT)

Today I share some Bible verses for you to believe, meditate and declare for your life and your situation.

The Word of God has the power to transform your mind and therefore also changes your way of living (to learn more about this see “The Word of God will always bear fruit”).

These biblical passages will help you think differently and that will make the problem of anger smaller and smaller… I bear witness to this.

What the Bible says:

Also, don’t sin by letting anger control you. Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, because anger gives rise to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26-27 NLT

Before continuing I will tell you something from the previous verse: The sin is not in getting angry, but in letting the anger make you offend others or do any other bad thing as it says in Psalm 37:8

“He who loses his temper easily provokes fights; he who remains serene stops them.” Proverbs 15:18 NLT

“A person without self-control is like a city with its walls destroyed.” Proverbs 25:28 NLT

«Don’t get excited, don’t get upset; don’t let your anger drive you to do bad things too.” Psalm 37:8 PDT

“He who lives angry cannot live as God commands.” James 1:20 PDT

Eliminate anger and everything like it:

If you’re already aware that you need to end anger, then it’s time to kick it out of your life forever. Notice that this is not something that God is going to take away from you, but it is something that is up to you to abandon.

Verses with advice to eliminate anger

Here are some verses that give us advice to eliminate anger to declare them with faith:

“But now is the time to remove the anger, the fury, the malicious behavior, the slander and the foul language.” Colossians 3:8 NLT

“Discard all that is bitterness, anger, anger, yelling, slander, and all kinds of evil.” Ephesians 4:31 KJV

The following verses will help you when you are about to explode with anger:

WHEN YOU GET ANGRY BECAUSE YOU ARE UNFAIRLY ACCUSED:

«Give the Lord everything you do; trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence shine like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the midday sun. Psalm 37:5 NLT

WHEN YOU HAVE TO FACE SOMEONE WHO IS VERY ANGRY, instead of getting angry too, it is convenient to put this word into practice:

“The kind response calms the anger, but the rude response makes it more turned on.” Proverbs 15:1 NLT

“My beloved brothers, I want you to understand the following: all of you must be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry.” James 1:19 NLT

WHEN THEY OFFEND YOU:

“Do your best to live in peace with everyone. Dear friends, never take revenge. Let the righteous wrath of God take over. For the scriptures say:

“I will take revenge; I will pay them what they deserve”, says the Lord». Romans 12:18-19 NLT

“Forgive one another, just as God has forgiven you through Christ.” Ephesians 4:32 NLT

Prayer to eliminate anger

“Father God, I come before you to ask your forgiveness for all the times I allowed anger to make me sin. Today I decide that I will not let anger control me again.

In the name of Jesus I renounce anger, anger, revenge, bitterness, offensive words, insults and all kinds of evil.

I declare that from today I will be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry. I decide to leave revenge in your hands and I promise to forgive everything that offends me, trusting that in due time you will show others my honesty.

I put all my trust in you, so that you act in my favor. Fill me with your Holy Spirit so that with his power I can exercise self-control in my life. May your name be glorified for what you will do in me and through me, Lord. In the name of Jesus”.
