The purpose of the ministry

Regarding the women’s ministry, one of the authors highlights that “the ministry is not an end, but a tool to help women fulfill the call that Christ has for each one (1 Cor 12:12)” (pos. 348 ). The women’s ministry should seek to glorify God in the life of each woman, considering her different needs. Knowing these needs can lead to conducting a Bible study on a particular topic that allows enriching and strengthening the spiritual life of each participant. This in order to identify and recognize the essential role of the Word in the life of a godly woman.

The purpose of the women’s ministry does not consist of meetings, activities, or if they will eat something while talking about the topic studied. This ministry promotes growth in Christ as its members walk together in the process of sanctification. It is about learning together to live for Christ through his Word and glorify his name.

The book presents different ways in which this ministry can be carried out. The way in which each one is carried out will depend on a previous analysis of the group and the context in which this type of ministry is to be developed. In any case, the book points out that within the women’s ministry, biblical counseling or mentoring, small meetings, prayer meetings, youth ministry, ministry through social networks, among others, can be carried out. Each of these methods must count first with prayer and the Lord’s guidance, since “the most relevant trigger to start a service to God is when the need for the work is combined with a clear direction from God to start it” (pos. 1411).

The foundation of the ministry

As I mentioned, the foundation of the women’s ministry will be Christ and His Word. For this reason, we cannot limit ourselves to the study of some topics, since “we cannot give to others what we ourselves do not know. We cannot disciple other women in Scripture if all we know are those passages that only speak directly to women, while ignoring everything else” (pos. 541). The women’s ministry, therefore, must be based on the principles of the Word of God in its entirety, in order to edify each listener.

Likewise, “the women’s ministry cannot function separately from those to whom God has humanly entrusted the leadership of the congregation —the pastors—, and it cannot function isolated from the vision of the church” (pos. 534). The women’s ministry also seeks to help and complement the pastors or leaders of the local church, and in no way seeks to overshadow the role or gifts of each brother in Christ.

A book for every Christian woman

Perhaps in your local church this ministry exists under another name or another type of organization. The important thing is to be aware that it is present in the will of God and you should make the most of it. “It is our prayer that women’s ministries exhibit women filled with the Holy Spirit and that they will be of good testimony in their circles of influence for the glory of God and the expansion of his kingdom. Amen!” (pos. 924).

is a useful resource not only for those who want to start a women’s ministry in their local church or who are currently leading one. It is also recommended for any member of a local church. This book encourages us to value this ministry and be a part of it to advance the gospel message that brings hope, restoration, and eternal life.
