“Without the presence of women, there is no harmony in the world, because women are harmony, they are poetry, they are beauty.” The phrase is from Pope Francis, but it is conducive to reflection on this day dedicated to women, that inspiring and admirable being, created by God to be a sign of his tenderness wherever she is.
The Bible narrates in Genesis 1 that God had made everything good that exists and given it to man; however, He was still sad, as he had not found complicity in anything that had been presented to him. Then, God created woman and when man saw her, he was amazed and exclaimed: “This is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh”!
Your presence, woman, makes a difference in the universe
Sometimes I wonder: “What did the woman do in the first moments of her life”? But, regardless of what it was, the most important thing is to know what her presence and only her presence did in the universe. And it became clear, already at the beginning of creation, that it is not the things we do that provide harmony, but our being. Pope Francis stated in his homily on February 9, 2017, that she is the woman who brings harmony, who teaches us to caress, to love tenderly, and who makes the world a beautiful thing.
I believe that there is the center of the feminine, loving. We can do many things, but nothing brings us as much happiness as dedicating ourselves to people, simply because God created us dedicated to love and tenderness. In this context, I present some steps that can be taken to bring harmony to the world.
Find your place
I believe that the first place where we must provide harmony is within ourselves, because no one can give what they do not have. So, woman, come closer to God and let yourself be led by Him. This experience will lead you to realize that you are unique and have incalculable value. You will also realize that every gesture you make with tenderness has the power to transform hearts. Who has never changed their mind after a loving smile, a hug or a word of comfort?
Own your truth
Your story, however harsh it may be, has great value. Try to contemplate God’s mercy in every event in your life, and this will help you realize that God has never abandoned you. It will help you to gratefully love God, yourself and, consequently, others. When we reconcile ourselves with our truth, it happens as if it were a new birth in our life. We become capable of loving without fear and also receiving the love stored by other people for us.
Take it easy
The turmoil has taken us away from the center of the most important things in life. We find ourselves clinging to the past or worrying about the future when, in fact, God is loving us in the present, right where we are right now. Pope Francis says that: “To understand a woman it is necessary, first, to dream her”. However, the truth is that we lack time to dream, perhaps that’s why we don’t even understand ourselves. So, listen to your heart that says quietly: “calm down, choose what is essential for this moment and don’t panic; “There is a time for every thing under Heaven.”

Escape from functionality
Most of us women suffer from . Because we would like to do many things and we can’t. But, isn’t the fact that we always want to do more, in a way, an attempt to live up to the standard of “modern woman” that the media presents? Pope Francis recalls that “functionality is not a woman’s objective”. Of course, she can do many things, as in general everyone can, he says, but a woman’s goal above all is to create harmony in the world.
Therefore, woman, to bring the harmony that the world needs, be yourself and live according to the vocation that God gave you. Do not allow anything to dim your shine, nor diminish your dignity as a beloved daughter of the Father. Remember that your happiness is hidden in the hearts thirsty for love spread throughout the world. So courage! Love without fear everyone you meet. Reach out to those who need to lift your hand, smile freely even if you are not understood. Hug tight! Dry your tears, welcome those who arrive, promote good wherever you go and you will see that little by little the world will become much more harmonious, simply because you exist!
