ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE, THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM IS THE FEAR OF THE LORD
How is it that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah?
Proverbs 9:10 says: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Most Holy is understanding.” Basically, this verse teaches that the fear of God is fundamental to true wisdom; all other kinds of learning are useless unless they are based on the knowledge of the Lord himself, for the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord.
THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM, BUT WHAT IS FEAR ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE?

The beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah… In the Bible, the word translated as “fear” can mean several things. It can refer to the terror one feels in a terrifying situation (Deuteronomy 2:25). It can mean “respect” in the way that a servant fears his master and serves him faithfully (Joshua 24:14). Fear can also denote the awe or awe a person feels in the presence of greatness (Isaiah 6:5). The fear of the Lord is a combination of all of these, and the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Those who fear the Lord have a continuing knowledge of Him, a deep reverence for Him, and a sincere commitment to obey Him.

When the Bible talks about fearing God, which is the beginning of wisdom, this does not mean that we should fear that He will treat us arbitrarily or cruelly. Rather, fear in this context refers to our reverence for the authority of God as the Creator and our submission to Him as the supreme Judge of the words and deeds of our lives. This is what is meant by telling us that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah.
Fearing disappointing God is similar, but on a much larger scale, to the way you might fear disappointing your parents out of love and respect for them. So let us keep in mind that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah.

The fear of God, which is the beginning of wisdom, is the fear of disappointing our Holy Father who sees everything we think, do and say and who determines the eternal state of our souls (Proverbs 15:3; Ecclesiastes 12 :13-14)…The beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah.
When you fear disappointing God, you accept that His will is for your good. Furthermore, you understand that his judgment may reflect his love for the life you have chosen to lead or his anger for it. Always keep in mind that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah.
When we are told that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, this fear of the Lord, therefore, is choosing to live according to the “life manual” that God gave us out of love in the Bible.
THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM IS THE FEAR OF THE LORD, THE FOOLISH DESPIS THE WISDOM AND THE TEACHING
The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, but fools despise wisdom and teaching
Proverbs 1:7 says: “The beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah; the foolish despise wisdom and teaching.” This verse gives us an additional idea with its antithetical parallelism.—There is a marked contrast between the wise life and the foolish life.

A wise person fears/reveres/obeys the Lord; a fool despises God’s instruction and cannot be told what to do. The wise man is wise because he has started at the starting point (The fear of the Lord, for it is the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord); the fool has no foundation on which to build wisdom.

Romans 1:21-22 speaks of those who “did not glorify him as God, nor gave him thanks, but were puffed up in their reasonings, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.” This is a description of people who try to gain wisdom by ignoring God; It cannot be done for the simple reason that God is the source of wisdom, for this reason, the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah.
The link between the fear of God and wisdom means that we cannot possess wisdom if we recreate God in our own image. Too many people want to “tame” God into a non-threatening nobody; But if we redefine the Lord as a God who makes us feel comfortable, a permissive “friend” who exists simply to bless us and give us what we want, we won’t fear him in the way he deserves to be feared. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah and we must fear him in the way the Bible teaches us.

The Lord God Almighty is much greater than that, and the fear of the Lord begins when we see Him in His majesty and power (Revelation 4:11; Job 42:1–2), and the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. . The Lord shows Job (and us) a glimpse of his power in Job 38-41 when he describes his absolute sovereignty over all.
When the reality of God’s true nature has caused us to fall into worship, then we are in the right position to gain wisdom. Wisdom is simply seeing life from God’s perspective and responding accordingly, always keeping in mind that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah.
THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM IS THE FEAR OF JEHOVAH AND IT IS A PRIORITY, WE MUST SEEK IT

Wisdom is a priority, and we are told to seek it above all else (Proverbs 3:13; 16:16), and we are told that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. Proverbs is known as the book of wisdom, and the entire second chapter gives a detailed explanation of the value of acquiring wisdom.

Until our hearts are in right relationship with God, we cannot have the “wisdom that comes from heaven” (James 3:17). In the parable of the rich man, whose inheritance had produced much, he had a “wise” and practical plan for his gains, but God said to him: “You fool!” because the plans of this rich man were made without thinking about God or eternity (Luke 12:16-21) and we must keep in mind that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah.

Without the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom, we make final decisions based on our faulty human understanding (Proverbs 3:5–6). When we incorporate the fear of the Lord into every moment of our lives, we make decisions based on his approval, because the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
We live with the knowledge that the Creator of the universe is intimately involved in our every move. He sees, knows and evaluates all our choices, and one day we will have to give an account to him (Psalm 139:1-4); therefore, he remembers that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah, and one day we will give him an account of everything.

Our respect for God’s majesty causes us to honor him (Psalm 29:2). Our gratitude for his mercy causes us to serve him well (Psalm 2:11; 107:15). And the understanding that our God of love is also a God of wrath inspires enough fear to help us turn away from evil (Romans 1:18; Proverbs 8:13), and the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah.
Sin is nonsense; justice is wise. When we live righteously, we are on the path of wisdom, and everyone in our lives benefits (Proverbs 13:20; 19:8). The way to wisdom is the fear of Jehovah because the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah our God.
WHY IS THE FEAR OF JEHOVAH THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM?
1. The fear of the Lord (the beginning of wisdom) gives you the wisdom of humility.
The beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah, God is the source of all things, from wisdom to creation and salvation. Submitting to his authority requires humility in recognizing that man was made in his image and not the other way around.
In other words, there are those who see God as an all-permitting being who blesses any human behavior as long as the “person’s heart is in the right place.”
This relativism ignores humanity’s need for the Commandments and the Crucifixion alike and reduces God to an enabling friend who has no standards as to who can enter His House.
Those who see God in this way twist him into an entity that exists simply to stroke the human ego. Choosing to act on such dangerous pride ignores the reality of hell, as we are warned that pride precedes the fall (Proverbs 16:18). Remember that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah.
