The barren fig tree

Parable The barren fig tree in the Bible

Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard. He went to look for fruit on it and found none. So he said to the one tending the vineyard, ‘I’ve been looking for fruit on this fig tree for three years now and I can’t find any. Cut it down! Why let it make the land useless?’ “The man replied, ‘Lord, leave it for another year, and I will dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, great! If not, cut it off.'”
