TAUMATURGE – Encyclopedic Dictionary of Bible and Theology

Greek term that refers to the one who performs miracles or has the capacity to do so. The Thaumaturge par excellence is Christ, as he is natural. But some saints received such a description due to popular devotion and piety: Saint Gregory Thaumaturge, Saint Leo Thaumaturge of Catanalia, Saint Francis of Paula.
