Prayer to Our Lady of Silence

Our Lady of Silence and Humility, you live lost and found in the bottomless sea of the Mystery of the Lord. You are availability and receptivity. You are fruitfulness and fullness. You are attention and concern for your brothers. You are covered with strength. Human maturity and spiritual elegance shine in you. You are your own master before you are Our Lady.

In you there is no dispersion. In a simple and total act, your soul, completely immobile, is paralyzed and identified with the Lord. You are within God, and God is within you. The total mystery surrounds you, penetrates and possesses, occupies and surrenders your entire being.

Wrap us in your mantle, Our Lady of Silence

It seems that everything has stopped in you, everything has identified with you: time, space, words, music, silence, women, God. Everything was assumed in you, and divinized.

Never before has a human figure of such sweetness been seen, nor will we ever see one so ineffably evocative on this earth again.

However, your silence is not absence, but presence. You are in awe of the Lord and, at the same time, attentive to your brothers, as in Cana. Silence is never as profound as when nothing is said, and silence is never as eloquent as when nothing is communicated.

Make us understand that silence is not uninteresting for people, but a source of energy and radiation, it is not shrinkage, but projection. It makes us understand that, to pour out, you need to fill yourself.

Wrap us in Your cloak of silence

The world is drowning in the sea of dispersion, and it is not possible to love our brothers with a scattered heart. Make us understand that the apostolate, without silence, is alienation; and that silence, without apostolate, is comfort.
