The Lord teaches us: “You will live by the work of your hands, you will live happily and satisfied”. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen!
Dear Father, I need to support myself and my family. Before we even ask, as we see in the Psalm, the Lord already knows that we need a job. I know that it is Your will that we work and, today, I need a job to fulfill your will.
I find myself unemployed and in a terrible financial situation. This brings a lot of annoyance: misunderstandings, revolts, discomfort and offenses. I feel devalued, with no desire to pray or do other things.
Now, I realize how many times I complained about my job, my employer, my bosses, co-workers and my salary. How many times have I not been exemplary in my tasks! I did it with anger and contempt, without worrying about the result. I spoke badly about people, I invented gossip, I slandered, I defamed, but now I realize how much harm I did! I wasn’t paid for this, but rather to perform my job responsibly and to be worthy of my bosses’ trust. Today, I regret it. I ask, Lord, for this evil I caused.
I also want to ask forgiveness for the false certificates, for the lies told during delays, for the misuse of the salary received, for the times I took objects to my house – which constitutes theft –, for the times I covered up my mistakes and those of others, harming my employer, for the times I used my time, being negligent and letting it dominate me.
Forgive me, Lord, I don’t want to be like this anymore.
How many times have I had the opportunity to pray and be grateful for my job and I didn’t do it; I preferred to complain, I let myself be dominated by evil. How many times have I believed more in evil, in persecution, in macumba, in spells, than in the graces and power of God!
Today, I am sorry, and I want to free myself from everything that imprisons me and blocks my new work.
I know that the job market is difficult, with few vacancies available, but I know that the Lord will guide me with my physical, mental and physical needs and capabilities.
I ask, in advance, for my employers: that their needs may be met by my qualifications and association with them. Help me to be a blessing in this work you have in mind for me.
