The Impact of a Mother’s Words on the Lives of Her Children

BIBLICAL TEXT: “Can a woman forget what she gave birth to, that she should not pity the son of her womb?” (Isaiah 49:15)

INTRODUCTION:

Every day we hear moving stories of mothers who become heroines so that their children have better opportunities to get ahead, overcome illness, or exercise their rights. Mothers who fight for the rights of their children, intercede for them, or defend their innocence.

How many stories have we not witnessed of mothers who fight for their newborn babies before their time, and stay awake in hospitals until they are discharged.

Mothers lining up in prisons to see their children, whether they are guilty or innocent.

Mothers who await the return of their children, who have left home after a fight, or who have been misguided by bad friends

I. THE PAIN OF MOTHERS ONLY ANOTHER MOTHER WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND IT

Will a woman forget what she gave birth to, to stop feeling sorry for the son of her womb? Isaiah 49:5

Too many poems, songs, Christian sermons, and books have been written to explain the pain of the mother when seeing her children suffer, or not having the presence of her children.

As much as a mother tries to explain what she feels, it is impossible

As much as others try to understand what the mother feels, it is impossible

II. THE LOVE OF THE MOTHER IS THE MOST SIMILAR THING ON EARTH TO THE LOVE OF GOD

The mother forgives everything

It doesn’t matter if the son is guilty or innocent, he will always be by his side.

He will make any sacrifice for his son

He will stop eating, so that his son can do it

III. NOT ALL MOTHERS GUIDE THEIR CHILDREN TO GOOD.

Although most mothers are good, there are mothers who do not understand that by wanting to overprotect their children, and help them achieve something despite the laws or the rights of others, they drive their children to commit crimes, or shameful actions. that will mark the rest of their lives, often putting their lives or their freedom in danger.

Athaliah: A Mother Who Advised Her Son To Do Evil

Christian preaching teaches us that Athaliah badly advised her son. “The inhabitants of Jerusalem made Cosiah his youngest son king in place of Joram; because an armed band that had come with the Arabs to the camp had killed all the elders, for which Cosías, son of Joram king of Judah, reigned. 2 When Cosías began to reign he was forty and two years old, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Athaliah, daughter of Ori.” Chronicles 22:1-3

He also walked the paths of the house of Hace, because his mother:

He advised him to act impiously.

I teach him not to fear God

led him to destruction

A mother can make her children vessels of honor or dishonor

CONCLUSION:

Mothers intuitively protect their children.

But when they don’t, God is always ready to help those who seek him. Isaiah 49:15

There are mothers who think that not making their children angry, or giving them everything they ask for, is being a good parent.

But children must be educated in the good ways of God, and if they do not obey, it is important to correct them so that they straighten their paths. “The rod and correction give wisdom; But the spoiled boy will shame his mother.” Proverbs 29:15

Parents should teach their children from an early age that God commands them to honor their parents. Matthew 15:4

It is the duty of parents to take the time and train children to be good children, good citizens, good employees, good husbands and fathers. It all starts at home. It is the duty of the parents. It is your responsibility towards your children and society, but above all, it is your duty towards God. A mother who instructs her children is leaving her an inheritance that will continue for good for the rest of her life. She “trains up a child in her way, and when he is old she will not depart from him.” Proverbs 22:6

CALL:

And you, what kind of mother are you?

A good mother is not just the one who sacrifices herself and keeps awake for her children. A good mother is the one who selflessly instills in her children the love of God. Respect for others, selfless service, and honesty. A good mother is one who teaches her children to respect others. One that does not allow her children to steal, lie, insult, hit, be unfulfilled or disrespectful, or lazy.

Teaching is illustrated by example.

You, are you raising God-fearing children or criminals?

It is time for you to reflect on the inheritance that you will leave to your children.
