How to break spiritual chains. 10 Important Aspects

Breaking spiritual ties frees us from sin, fear, slavery and gives us the peace that only Christ can give us. Therefore it is important to seek God every day and maintain communion so that nothing torments or disturbs us.

I invite you to read:

When we arrive at the feet of Christ we can find what we need, reaching the peace that we did not know before, freeing ourselves internally and strengthening ourselves every day with our abilities to exalt the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. As the word expresses it:

“Stand firm therefore in the freedom with which Christ set us free, and do not be subjected again to the yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1)

That is why God must be the center of our life to be able to free ourselves from everything that binds us and does not allow us to live a life in full joy. However, not everything is as easy as it seems, since we must constantly fight with the enemy, and for that we must be strengthened in the Lord so as not to falter.

How to break spiritual chains. 10 important aspects

Breaking the chains or spiritual ties is a process that is carried out only if we have Christ in our hearts, since it is through him that we achieve forgiveness and liberation from every yoke that binds and disturbs us.

In many churches today you can see the apathy that exists in the sheep because the pastor does not attend to their needs accordingly, for that reason the work of God on earth has been hindered. But the real reason is that the chains that do not allow believers to have peace must first be attacked or broken. Therefore, it is important to take into account the following aspects:

1.- The spiritual chains that bind the past

Many Christians struggle with conflicts that stunt their spiritual growth. These chains keep you tied to the past, in a zone of weakness in which our ancestors, who may not have been believers, were weak and vulnerable.

This spiritual inheritance is negative and manifests itself because we leave some entrance, giving the devil the legal right to enter. These ties generally affect our will, mind and emotions and have a great impact on our behavior with outbursts of anger, rage, depression, lies, among others. In this regard, the word exhorts us as follows:

“Let there be no strife, envy, anger, divisions, gossip, gossip, arrogance, disorder among you; that when I return, God humbles me among you, and perhaps I have to cry for many of those who have sinned before, and have not repented of the filth and fornication and lasciviousness that they have committed. (2 Corinthians 12:20-21)

In this sense, in order to break the spiritual chains that bind us and prevent us from having the Holy Spirit in our lives, we must leave behind the past that torments us and be born again, being a new creature in Christ Jesus, who definitively freed us. from all sin through the divine covenant.

We just have to repent from the heart, forgive those who hurt us in the past and let the Holy Spirit enter, to receive the blessings from on High.

2.- The lack of forgiveness

Another of the spiritual chains that bind and enslave us is undoubtedly the lack of forgiveness, since this consumes us and does not allow us to live in peace with ourselves and with others.

The first person we must forgive is ourselves, since we must first free ourselves from guilt, since when we receive Jesus Christ as our one and only true God, we are being cleansed of all sin, we are being reborn as a new and transformed person, so God through our repentance erases sin from us and no longer remembers it.

However, we must also forgive our aggressors, once and for all remove that ties and let out of us all resentment and resentment that prevents us from walking in peace with God.

In this way, if we want to obtain God’s forgiveness, we must forgive, and what helps us to forgive those who attack us is gratitude to God for his mercy towards us, and obeying his word. As his word expresses it:

“Remove from yourselves all bitterness, anger, wrath, shouting and slander and all malice. Rather be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:31-32)

3.- Pride

The lack of forgiveness generates a bond between the person who has suffered the aggression and the person who caused it. This is removed with forgiveness, since both parties are released and the Holy Spirit can restore and heal the wounds of the heart. In this way, the new bond with God fills those who sincerely forgive with love.

We must understand that God’s provision and love are even greater than everything you can achieve, so we must put pride aside and forgive and ask for forgiveness when we make a mistake. Acknowledging a mistake frees us from the chains.

4.- Grief is a process

The affliction is caused by different factors that can be a disappointment in love, the loss of a loved one or job, by dreams that do not come true. It can also be the product of an abortion or sterility. In the same way, misunderstandings with other people or discontent due to personal situations can occur. But despite all our afflictions we can trust God because he never leaves us.

Grief refers to a natural process that occurs due to a difficult situation and extends over a period of time depending on each particular case. This grieving process can usually last from one to three years, but if left unresolved it can cause deeper problems on a spiritual, physical, and emotional level. Which is a great obstacle to our spiritual growth.

In order to free ourselves from this situation, the person must maintain communion with God and express what he feels, since God does not reject a contrite and humiliated heart.

5.- Addictions enslave us

Everything that generates a physical or psychological dependence is an addiction and it is harmful because it manages to dominate the person’s will. Many addictions could even cause death and must be promptly treated at a medical level.

According to the dictionary, addiction is surrendering the will to something, obsessively. The great danger lies in surrendering, surrendering to another power, allowing the will to become passive. Therefore the word exhorts us as follows: “I beg you to refrain from carnal desires that battle against the soul” (1 Peter 2:11)

In most cases, addicts deny their dependency and say they can quit at any time. But the chains can only be broken through the Holy Spirit.

6.- Rejection and negative self-image

Words have power, whether they are ours or others’, they can build, heal or hurt the spirit. Therefore, it can generate distrust, low self-esteem and cause deep wounds that can make us succumb and in this way we could even lose salvation.

However, in the word we can get the beautiful promises of our God, who frees us from all oppression and has the power to break the spiritual chains of discouragement, low self-esteem, negative self-image, among other ties that disturb us. For which we must entrust ourselves to God and protect ourselves with his Holy Spirit from all evil, as his word affirms: “No weapon formed against you will prosper and you will condemn every tongue that rises up against you in judgment. This is the inheritance of the servants of the LORD.” (Isaiah 54:17)

7.- Illicit sexual relations

The word of God tells us that everything is lawful for me but not everything suits us, not everything is good for us, not everything enriches us spiritually. Therefore, we must take care of our body as well as our mind, soul and spirit because our body is the temple and dwelling place of the holy spirit, so if we commit any type of illegal relationships we are directly attacking God because we are his most precious creation. . As the word says:

“Put to death, then, what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, inordinate passions, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry.” (Colossians 3:5)

This is a chain that only God can break with his infinite mercy and love, but we must open the doors to the Holy Spirit and repent from the heart.

In the case of rape or incest, the person remains tied to their attacker in such a way that it consumes them and does not allow them to live fully and in peace. This can affect him in his relationship with God, create insecurity, mistrust, fear. But through forgiveness she can break the spiritual chains that do not allow her to live in peace and be happy.

Forgiving the aggressor is what can free her, but because it is a very delicate situation, it requires intense counseling treatment, which could be necessary and very positive.

Unfortunately, the most frequent consequences of this sexual sin lead to other sins such as abortion, suicide, homicide, even in self-defense. In this regard, the defenders of life point out that this entails serious spiritual conflicts, both for women who make the decision to abort and for those who authorize it.

8.- Spirit of death

One of the chains that must be broken are those of the spirit of death that persecutes those weak people who have gone through very difficult situations or who have family problems, self-esteem, eating problems, depression, among others.

Satan oppresses these people and injects thoughts of death into their minds. He bombards them with feelings of guilt, resentment, condemnation, remorse, self-righteousness, anguish, self-hatred, and even disturbs them with thoughts of suicide. Demons enter when they leave doors open, when the person is at a crucial moment in his life, where sadness and desolation succumbs.

For this reason, that person must be freed from those spirits that want to oppress them and even want their death. The only way to break these strong ties is through the blood of Christ, who cleanses us from all sin and leads us to his admirable light.

9.- The lies

Satan is the king of lies and deceit. Therefore, he will try to persuade souls to be unaware of the Power of God, he will tempt them to speak lies and practice them in his daily life. But in order to break the chains of lies we must entrust ourselves to Christ who is the way, the truth and the life.

The perfect work of God is that no soul is lost and can have access to the kingdom of heaven. Unfortunately, the devil seeks to divert the purpose that the Lord has for each one of us and for this he uses lies as a weapon, making him believe in false teachings, false doctrines, making them participate in illegal acts and that they are condemned by the word of God.

10.- Activities in the occult

The book of Deuteronomy 18: 9-14 tells us that occult practices are an abomination to God. This is about Astrology (Tarot, witchcraft,…
