upsistos (ὔψιστος, G5310), highest, is a superlative degree of the term upsels (see HIGH), the positive being obsolete; used of God in Luke 1:32, Luke 1:35, Luke 1:76; Luk 6:35, in each of whose passages the RVR renders “Most High”, as does the RV . The other places where it is translated “Most High” are Mark 5:7; Luke 8:28; Ac 7:48; Acts 16:17; Hebrews 7:1. See HEIGHTS.
