“Have no other gods besides me.

“Do not make for yourself an idol or anything that resembles what is in heaven above, or what is on the earth below, or what is in the waters under the earth.

Do not bow down to them or worship them. I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. When parents are evil and hate me, I punish their children to the third and fourth generation.

On the contrary, when you love me and keep my commandments, I show you my love for a thousand generations.
