EASTERN GATE – Encyclopedic Dictionary of Bible and Theology

Eastern Gate (Heb. shaar hamizraj). Jerusalem Gate mentioned by Nehemiah (3:29); It does not indicate that it was repaired. It may have been identical to the “eastern gate” of the temple that Ezekiel mentions (10:19; 11:1). In Jer 19:2, the “eastern gate” is a mistranslation for “Gate of the Tejoletas” (JB) or “Gate of the Pots” DHH).
