As parents, we place our children in the care of Our Lady
O good Mother, thrice admirable, you who are the Mother of the Son of God and who adopted us as your children, you understand very well how sublime, grand and beautiful is the mission entrusted to us as family parents. In our hands, God has placed the future of the Church and society. He gave us the power to collaborate with Him in the creation, education and training of the men of tomorrow.
Aware of our responsibility and knowing the reality of life, we feel incapable of carrying out the great mission entrusted to us on our own.
Therefore, Mother, full of confidence, we kneel before you, to entrust you and consecrate our children to you. You know well how many dangers they are exposed to and how the world and the devil persecute them, wanting to destroy in them their dignity as children of God and throw them into the mud of sin! Mother, we humbly beseech you: come to the aid of our children and reveal in them your admirable art of education! Welcome them into your kind heart, assist them and support them in all difficulties, especially in times of temptation. Keep them pure and teach them to always fight for good. Extend your hand to them and guide them to God.
Keep them away from bad company and free them from all evil. Keep in them the sanctifying grace they received in baptism and do not allow them to offend God through serious sin.
Dear Mother, watch over our homes and our children. Make sure we never lack material bread and spiritual food. Make faith, hope and charity grow in all of us. It raises among us Christian customs of prayer, the practice of good works and a spirit of sacrifice. Help us to always have Christian attitudes, of fraternal charity, mutual forgiveness and solidarity. Be you the Mother and educator of our children. May they truly live as children of God. Guide them in the vocation that the Heavenly Father predicted for them from eternity. Guide them through life and accompany them at the time of death.
Help us, Mother, so that we, parents, can be true images of God for our children, so that they can find in us all the support, love, security and understanding they need.
Come, stay with us in our home. Make it similar to the home in Nazareth, where peace, unity, joy and love always reign. Amen.
