The Power of Unity – Sermons, Outlines and Bible Studies

Unity is something that cannot be separated, something that cannot be divided.

Division means two visions, two ways of thinking very different from each other.

Unity generates power, Division generates destruction. A divided kingdom or country is destroyed. V 24 “If a kingdom is divided against itself, such a kingdom cannot stand.”

A house, a divided home is destroyed it cannot remain. V 25 “And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”

In many homes, each member of the family has a different purpose, the husband wants one thing, the wife another, each of them says: when I have it I will buy.

The problem is not that each one has a different dream, that is normal, what is not normal is that they never agree and that is why they never achieve anything, if each one alone cannot realize their dream. Unite and fight together to achieve all the goals or dreams, one by one with the participation of all.

In the education of children, unity is also needed. The father says one thing, the mother says another, when they finally want to issue an order and the children have done what they wanted. Discussing in front of the children how they are going to be corrected causes them to lose authority and respect. First, both of you agree, and then give the order or take the pertinent correction.

Satan, who is very bad, works in unity. V 26 “And if Satan rises up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but the end of him has come.” He knows that unity generates strength, which is why he promotes division and disorder among Christians.

For Jesus Christ unity is very important, so much so that when he was on earth as a man he prayed for the unity of his disciples. John 17:11 “And I am no longer in the world; but these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep those whom you have given me in your name, so that they may be one, just like us.”

The unit brings protection:

In business avoid bankruptcy

At home avoid divorces

· In football avoid defeat

· In the army avoid death. Etc.

Jesus prayed for unity and not only for unity in his disciples, he prayed for unity in all who would come to believe in him. John 17: 2-21 “But I pray not only for these, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 17:21 that they may all be one; as you, O Father, in me, and I in you, may they also be one in us; so that the world believes that you sent me.” The power of Jesus as a man was in the unity he had with his father Jehovah.

Unity attracts the glory of God, that is, delight, joy, the ability to rejoice. V 22 “The glory that you gave me, I have given them, so that they may be one, just as we are one.” Only in unity can we enjoy the spouse, the children, the job or the church.

Unit Benefits:

1. Earn more earnings at work. Ecclesiastes 4:9 “Two are better than one; because they get better pay for their work.”

2. There is mutual help. V 10 “For if they fall, one will lift up his companion; but woe to the solo! that when he falls, there will be no second to pick him up.”

3. There is mutual care. V 11 “Even if two sleep together, they will warm each other; but how can one warm himself?

4. Mutual protection. V 12 “And if anyone prevails against one, two will resist him; and a cord of three folds is not soon broken.”

Unity is achieved when there is the same purpose. Philippians 2: 2-3 “complete my joy, feeling the same, having the same love, with one accord, feeling the same thing. 2:3 Do nothing out of strife or vainglory; rather with humility, each one estimating the others as superior to himself;”

Only unity at home, in our lives and in the church will make us strong and we will be able to achieve our goals.
