The king sent for you!! – Sermons, Outlines and Bible Studies

Christian sermons | christian sermons

When I was a child I remember a problem at mealtimes and especially when the visit came to the house. And it was having to go to the table and not finding my favorite place available. That place that may not have the mark like the one on the desk but maybe a piece of chewing gum under the place of my preference. (EVEN THOUGH MY MOM WONDERED WHAT THE FIGHT WAS IF THE TABLE WAS ROUND).

And where did the children end up when this happens? On the side table, in the kitchen or sitting on the floor eating at the table in the living room. I want you to have that memory in your mind by the end of this word.

2 Samuel 9:3-5 “The king said to him, Is there no one left from the house of Saul, whom I will show mercy to God? And Ziba answered the king: There is still a son of Jonathan, crippled in the feet. Then the king asked him: Where is he? And Siba answered the king: Behold, he is in the house of Machir son of Ammiel, in Lodebar. Then King David sent and brought him from the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.”

Perhaps you know the background context of this story, where Mephibosheth was crippled on his feet when the nurse ran from her house upon hearing the voice of death over Saul’s house. (2 Samuel 4:4)

Today I want to start by talking to you about the character and life of this man who grows up smooth and takes refuge in the mountains of Gilead. Tell them how he manages to overcome his position and how he achieves a place; his place, at the King’s table.

• Mephibosheth lived his life in disgrace, helpless, long-suffering and resigned. POWERLESS. To walk to get around.

• He was a Scarce man, WITHOUT INHERITANCE. He had no one to leave him an inheritance.

• He lived in a house that was not his house, with Machir. UNSTABLE ECONOMY.

• Not counting all his shame and emotional sadness at seeing the death condition of his father and grandfather.

But there was a transcendental fact that was the PACT of his father, by which the MERCY of God would be poured out on the life of this man and the price that activated and accelerated this pact, was the death of Saul.

IT WAS NECESSARY FOR SAUL TO DIE FOR THE KING TO BE DISTURBED TO SHOW MERCY FOR MEPHI-BOSHET.

Today I ask you a question. Do you long for or need God’s mercy today? So, are you willing to kill that Saul inside you?

– But shepherdess, how are you going to compare me with Saul, if I look more like David… – You can say.

Let me go ahead and you will tell me later.

Let’s analyze three behaviors that led to Saul’s death and may be blocking the movement of God’s mercy in our lives.

1. THE FEAR. 1 Samuel 10:21-22

When the prophet Samuel summoned the people to proclaim Saul as King, who had been chosen from the tribe of Benjamin; he says the word that he was hiding, scared to death.

Despite the fact that Samuel had already made God’s purpose known to him, he had treated him like a king, the Spirit of God took him and prophesied, he had anointed him; Saul was scared to death, HIDING.

Today I tell you church, you who have spent one, two, three years with your semester postponed, you who left home because of an argument with a family member, you who perhaps your son or daughter has embarrassed! And you live by what they will say, as if you were inside a suitcase, without vision, without direction, letting others take you… TODAY THE LORD TELLS YOU TO GET OUT OF THE BAGGAGE.

You who have projects that God has designed in your heart, companies, businesses; No more excuses, KILL THE FEAR OF SAUL and march because today God wants to show mercy to you.

And for those who are still afraid today, the word of God tells you: John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world gives it. Not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”

2. DISOBEDIENCE 1 Samuel 13:6

Saúl makes fear part of his character. He had been reigning for two years and together with Jonathan he organized a fight against the Philistines, he gathered 3,000 men for the battle, but the Philistines came out in front with 30,000 chariots plus 6,000 horsemen. Faced with this response, the people HID.

V.7 In this verse we see how clearly the people were contaminated by the weak character of their King. FOR A FEARFUL KING, A FEARFUL PEOPLE.

(V. 8-14) Because of this, the people began to leave because they did not feel protected by their King and Saul was scared to death, disobeying Samuel’s instructions and lighting the Holocaust without his consent (Sanctified task granted only to Priests ). As a consequence he was deposed as King. DISOBEYED.

Philippians 2:8 says “that Jesus himself humbled himself, becoming OBEDIENT unto death, even death on the cross.”

This word is not about whether he pays attention or not, whether he is comfortable or not. It is that no matter if you expose yourself to gossip, or humiliation, you must be within the will of the Father. AMEN

Today I tell you church, whoever has not been baptized, let him be baptized; he who has not married should marry; and he who has not forgiven, let him forgive; he who has not humbled himself, let him humble himself. He who has not paid his debts having the means to do so, let him pay them; and to whom God has called to serve him, let him serve. AMEN or AYAYAY. OBEDIENCE UNTIL DEATH.

3. UNBELIEF

1 Samuel 15:3. Saul makes disobedience part of his character. He was supposed to destroy everything but he did as he wanted. V. 8-9 DISOBEDIENCE

V. 10-11 The consequence was that God regretted having made him king and God departed from Him.

Not listening to the voice of God Saul, desperate when facing his battles against the Philistines, went in search of the Endor fortune teller; To see if Samuel spoke to him. 1 Samuel 28:6-7. Saul made unbelief part of his character.

THREE ATTITUDES: FEAR, DISOBEDIENCE, UNBELIEF.

CHURCH, YOU CANNOT ALLOW FEAR TO DRIVE YOU TO DISOBEDIENCE AND DISOBEDIENCE TO UNBELIEF like it did with Saul.

I ask the church: WILL THERE BE SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO GIVE UP THESE ATTITUDES?

If you are willing to do so, I want to tell you prophetically that THE KING HAS SENT TO CALL YOU and to present yourself before Him, you must have put to death the attitudes that Saul has in your character.

I want to tell you that in the same way that Saul’s death activated David and Jonathan’s pact and provoked mercy towards this crippled man, without a future and without hope; In the same way, the Father propitiated a Covenant that was activated by the death of our Lord Jesus Christ and if you renounce these behaviors today, GOD’S MERCY WILL BE SPILLED ON YOUR LIFE.!

THERE IS A PACT, ACTIVATE IT.

Let’s go back to Mephibosheth, maybe you today feel like this man.

LET’S SEE HOW THAT MEETING BETWEEN DAVID AND MEPHI-BOSET WAS.

2 Samuel 9:4-5. The word says that it was King David who sent for him.

Perhaps, if Mephibosheth’s Blackberry PIN had been found out and a message had been placed on it that said: “SHOW UP AT THE PALACE AT 3” Mephibosheth would not have attended. BECAUSE I WAS SCARED. V.6-7a

David also understood that if he was crippled, lame, helpless; he would take more time to come walking, than if he did it alone, on his own. He would take too long, so he sent for him.

I imagine the King’s messengers presenting themselves at this man’s house, knocking on the door, saying: – Mephibosheth! “THE KING SENT TO CALL YOU” Perhaps Machir, his wife and Micaia his son told him: – How can you go. They will surely kill you. They are going to do the same as with the grandparents! –

SO HOW TO OVERCOME FEAR? What is the beginning of the chain of disobedience and disbelief? Very simple but complex: Remembering the pact.

The King reminds him of Jonathan’s pact. V7… David Activated the Covenant with his Father, and made him free from fear and therefore, he was free from disobedience and unbelief.

Church: God is doing the same thing today in your life.

He knows the pain you are going through, he knows your fear of not achieving your dreams. Perhaps you did not meet all the goals you set for yourself in 2010, but the loss of your company, the car, the legal collection is hurting you. If your soul is hurting because of that emptiness that someone left you.

Perhaps these marks are writing with indelible ink on the fibers of your heart and soul to REMIND YOU OF THE COVENANT THAT THE FATHER MADE, GIVING HIS SON TO RESTORE YOUR ILLNESS, YOUR DROUGHT, TO GET YOU OUT OF LODEBAR, FROM THAT DRY AND ARID PLACE .

All these tests are circumstantial, they are incidental in our life, and if you are willing to put Saul’s behavior to death, TODAY THE LORD TELLS YOU THAT HE HAS ALREADY SENT FOR YOU, that He knows how you feel, MAYBE IF HE WAS SILENT LIKE THE SONG SAYS, but it’s because I was working.

Today you must convince yourself that THE KING SENT TO CALL YOU.

When your family tells you: – You can’t. You are broke, you will not recover what you lost, your husband or your son will not return…! – KILL THE FEAR AND ANSWER THEM: DON’T WORRY, BECAUSE THE KING HAS SENT TO CALL ME.

The church knows that the activation of the pact is not just turning on a switch, or pressing a button and already: V 7 You will know that the pact has been activated because it will come: MERCY, RESTITUTION and PROVISION.

Remember fear is overcome, remembering. Affirming the pact that tells you that “GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD.”

HOW AND WHEN TO RECEIVE WHAT THE KING HAS FOR YOU?

In this verse David communicates to Mephibosheth that he spares his life, that he is going to give him land and that he will live in his palace, to which he responds V 8. Who is your servant that you look at a dead dog like me?

This expression, which is a question like someone bewildered, unworthy who apparently does not understand what is happening; he lets King David see that Mephibosheth had already put SAUL to death and that he was ready to receive the promise.

He could have answered: – It was about time that justice was done-, -I deserved it-, -It is always that his conscience tormented him… -, -He had delayed because I am the only heir of Saul.-

But I can see in this expression an acceptance on the part of Mephibosheth that in his life, there was no longer anything of blood or spirit that connected him with Saul. He did not claim neither by blood nor by inheritance.

David then understands from the spirit that Mephibosheth is ready and passes from the promise to the Fact. (HERE AT THIS POINT ARE MANY PEOPLE TODAY) V 9-11a. Many have promises from God but nothing that they see fulfilled.

Mephibosheth was not given just any land, he was given a land that produced to support his son and the entire family of his servant Siba (15 children, 20 servants) and he was assured of the future of his offspring. HE WAS GIVEN A COMPANY.

TODAY I WANT TO TELL YOU CHURCH THAT IF YOU HAVE DECIDED TO PUT TO DEATH THE BEHAVIORS OF SAUL YOU CARRY WITHIN, GOD WILL SPILL HIS MERCY OVER YOUR LIFE AND THAT MERCY WILL NOT ONLY RESTORE YOU, IT WILL GIVE YOU PROVISION, BUT IT WILL AFFECT YOUR ENTIRE GENERATION.

TODAY GOD IS REBUILDING YOUR ECONOMY BUT HE IS ALSO BUILDING COMPANIES, POSITIONS, UNIVERSITY CAREERS THAT YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL HAVE.
