Send this short prayer before your job interview – Biblical Studies

Prayer should always be part of our work. It doesn’t matter if we have a part-time job, a full-time job, are self-employed or looking for a job. We should always ask the Lord to give us direction. I’m a freelance writer and with every job I apply for, before I submit a pitch, I always say, “Lord, if this job is meant to be mine, please make it happen.” Then I hit send and let it go. I always trust Him to bring me the right clients.

We should ask the Lord to guide us in our work every day. We work with all kinds of people and you never know what God may be pushing you to do. If you are looking for a job and have an interview, ask the Lord for help with that as well. He wants to help us with all aspects of our work life.

A prayer for your job interview

“Dear Sir,

I thank you for the job opportunities that have been presented to me and I praise you for your provision. I pray that this interview goes smoothly, please reach within and calm my spirits and nerves. Help me showcase my unique talents and experience when answering the questions.

I pray for your favor among other applicants if this job is for me. Even if this job interview doesn’t work out, I still trust you to provide me with the right job. You are my provider and you know what I need more than I do. In your name I pray. Amen.”

What does the Bible say about work?

The Bible has a lot to say about work. Colossians 3:23 says, “Work heartily in whatever you do, as if you were working for the Lord and not for people.” This means that we should not complain or complain about our work, but do it with joy and joy. We must work as if the Lord were our boss.

Genesis 2:2 says, “On the seventh day God finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work.” Therefore, we must also rest on the seventh day of the week. This may seem impossible in the insane, work-obsessed culture we live in. However, this is one of God’s rules and we must obey it to the best of our ability. If you work on Sunday, make sure you spend the rest of the day resting.

Why should we pray for our jobs?

There are many reasons why we should pray for our jobs. Businesses close and lay off people every day, so it’s important to pray for God’s provision before anything happens. We deal with all kinds of people in our jobs, so we need to ask God to give us patience and also to have discernment if we are supposed to do something for someone or witness to them.

As you are preparing to apply for a job or go for an interview, we should pray for God’s will and let it go. Also, we live in a fallen world and praying for protection for ourselves and our bosses and co-workers is also essential.

Tips for a job interview

Job interviews are nerve wrecking. It doesn’t matter if it’s in person, by phone or by video call. I always get butterflies, especially since I express myself better in writing than verbally. These are my tips for interviews.

1. Review the job posting again if you can. Sometimes when I apply for many jobs, especially similar ones, I have to refresh my memory on what the company wants and what is required. That way you can base your answers specifically on what the company is looking for.

2. Dress professionally. This sounds obvious, but is often overlooked. Even though I work from home as a writer, I always have a nice shirt on, and my hair and makeup are well done.

3. Take a deep breath and relax.

4. Send a quick prayer in the minutes leading up and trust God from there.

Looking for work and interviewing is difficult. If you keep the tips above in mind, send a prayer and let it go from there, you should do just fine. Whatever happens, don’t lose hope, God will bring you the perfect job at the perfect time.
