anagennao (ajnagennavw, 313), from ana, again, again, or, from above, with gennao, beget or be born. It is found in 1Pe 1:3 “who † ¦ caused us to be born again” (KJV: “has regenerated”; VM: “has reborn”; Besson: “regenerated”; LBA: “has caused to be born again”); v. 23: “being reborn” (RV, RVR; RVR77: “having been born again”; VM: “having been reborn”; Besson: “regenerated”; LBA: “you have been born again”).¶ Note: In Joh 3:3,8, the adverb anothen, again, or, from above, accompanies the simple verb gennao.
