God’s will is one of the greatest mysteries of the Christian faith. What does God want from us? How do we know what his will is? Psalm 37:4 says, “Let the LORD do the will, and he will do all your works.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches us: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. Understanding all your ways in him, he will direct your paths.”
Matthew 6:10 tells us, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Ephesians 5:17 teaches us: “So do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the LORD is.”
Colossians 4:12 tells us: “That they understand how they should conduct themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.”
1 John 5:14-15 teaches us: “And this is the confidence we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in everything we ask, we know that we have what we have asked for.”
Paul teaches us in Romans 12:2: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. So that they verify what is the will of God, good, pleasant and perfect.»
These verses teach us that God’s will is perfect, and that we must follow it in everything. We must pray for God to guide us and show us his will for our lives.
What does the Bible say is the will of God?
