Jahdiel (Heb. Yajdî’êl, “God gives joy” or “union of God”). Chief of the half-tribe of Manasseh (1Ch 5:24).

(May God rejoice). One of the chiefs of the tribe of Manasseh. He was of the †œmighty and mighty men, men of name and heads of the houses of his fathers† (1Ch 5:24).

Head of the family of the half tribe of Manasseh residing E. of the Jordan; he was a brave and powerful man. Jahdiel’s descendants “began to act unfaithfully” toward Jehovah, eventually leading them into exile by the Assyrians. (1Ch 5:23-26.)
