In Search of Revival – Sermons, Outlines and Bible Studies

Habakkuk 3:2

From the time of the prophet Habakkuk in 628 BC he cried out to Jehovah to revive his work because unfortunately the people turned away from their GOD and went after other gods.

Revivals are necessary in the church but not for a moment but forever, but unfortunately like Israel, we separate ourselves from the Lord and that makes us go back to the point that the pastors are like Habakkuk, that the people return to the first love and the search of our God.

Biblical studies and Christian preaching based on sound doctrine teach us that the great revivals in England and that of Azusa Street marked the history of Christianity. For those who don’t know about the Azusa Street revival, I’ll give you a brief summary of how and where it happened.

The Azusa Street Revival is considered the greatest miracle movement in American history. The Azusa Street Revival was a historic Pentecostal revival meeting that took place in Los Angeles, California, and is the origin of the Pentecostal movement. More than 600 million Pentecostals around the world trace their faith back to its humble beginnings a century ago. The movement was led by William J. Seymour, an African-American preacher. It began with a meeting on April 9, 1906, and lasted until about 1915.

What strikes me the most about the Azusa revival is that one man made the difference to believe God, and to seek him knowing that he was going to grant him what he was asking for. The revival reached a point where the demonstrations in the church were seen all over the street. God became present in fire!

There were reportedly times when firefighters responded to the church due to outside observers reporting flames on the roof. But there was no fire, but it was the glory of God on the building. The fire came from above!

Notice something very important; revival comes when the church is on the same page.

In the biblical studies and Christian preaching of Joel 2-28 we find that he prophesied that the baptism of the Holy Spirit would fall on all flesh, but that is achieved, beloved, with fasting, prayer and obedience. The church today wants everything express fast and that is not the case; it is necessary to come to the altar and humble yourself, and He will do.

In the Christian messages and sermons based on Acts 2-1 we clearly see that the early church is the example of the great revivals, and the key is “unity”, since they shared everything in common that is why the Lord gave them many signs and wonders.

My question is: Pastor, do you believe that in your church there is that unity that the early church practiced? Because you can cry out for an anointing from on high, but if there is no unity within the congregation it is difficult for revival to come.

Conclusion:

We need a personal revival. Personal revival is what drives us to seek more of God. A personal revival will bring us everything we need and much more, just as was the case on Azusa Street.

Do you want God to send revival into your life? So let’s seek God’s forgiveness, let’s unite in prayer asking God to have mercy on us and give us the strength we need to persevere in our faith.

Do you want revival for your community? Then pray to God asking him to create in you a clean heart and to renew your spirit.

If we have learned anything over time in Bible studies, Christian preaching, and Christian messages that we have heard, it is that prayer is the key that unlocks the gates of heaven. We have to always pray for God to renew our minds and our spirits, because for there to be a revival in your community, there must first be a personal revival.

Let us always remember that revival begins in our hearts. Let us remember that revival begins at home so that it can be reflected in the church.
