Hear Israel Jehovah Our God Jehovah One Is

The Shema is one of the best known and most sacred prayers for the Jewish people. It comes from the book of Deuteronomy and says: “Hear, O Israel: Jehovah our God, Jehovah is one” (Deuteronomy 6: 4). The teaching of the Shema emphasizes monotheism, which is the belief that there is only one god.

What does it mean Hear Israel the Lord is our God the Lord is one

Listen, Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. – Deuteronomy 6:4

The Lord is our God, and he alone should receive our allegiance and worship. He is the only true God, and all other gods are false. We must love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and we must follow his commandments.

Where Jehovah says one is

“Where is Jehovah? Where is our God? Psalm 84:2

The psalmist asks: “Where is the Lord? Where is our God?”, and he realizes that wherever Jehovah is, there is prosperity. The psalmist longs to be in the presence of Jehovah, in the “House of Jehovah,” where there is “much mercy” and “goodness.” The psalmist prays that God will give him “a willing heart” to walk in his ways and to serve him faithfully. The psalmist recognizes that prosperity and happiness are in the presence of Jehovah, and that is where he wants to be.

The Biblical verse “Hear Israel, the LORD Our God, the LORD Is One” (Deuteronomy 6:4) teaches us that Jehovah is the only true God, and we should serve Him with all our hearts and with all our souls. We must love Jehovah with all our being and always seek to please him. Jehovah is the only God who deserves our worship and loyalty, and he will bless us if we serve him faithfully.
