God’s Letter to a Drug Addict

In this letter, God speaks directly to a drug addict, telling him that he loves him unconditionally. He tells her that he knows what’s going on, and that he’s willing to help her out of this situation. He asks her not to give up, and to trust him.

What can I say to a drug addict?

The Bible has a lot to say on the subject of drugs. First of all, God tells us that we must avoid all kinds of addiction. Second, God tells us to help those who are caught in the cycle of addiction.

First of all, God tells us that we must avoid all kinds of addiction. Ephesians 5:18 says, “Do not be drunk with wine, whereby there is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.” Also in 1 Corinthians 6:12 he says: “All things are lawful for me, but not all are convenient. All things are lawful to me, but not all are edifying.”

Second, God tells us to help those who are caught in the cycle of addiction. Matthew 7:12 says, “For everyone who asks me receives; and whoever seeks me finds; and to the one who calls me, I will answer him». John 3:17 says, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.”

In short, the Bible teaches us to avoid all types of addiction and to help those who are caught in the cycle of addiction.

How to write a letter to a drug addict

«Do not give yourselves to idleness, rather, occupy yourself in manual labor among yourselves, so that you may occupy yourself in it and not in evil deeds. And to those who don’t have a job, don’t be idle either. Thus you will not give yourselves to impurity, like the Gentiles who do not know God. Let no one in your community infringe the rights of his neighbor. I am the Lord.”

Ephesians 4:28-29

One of the first steps in helping a drug addict is to pray for them. Pray that God will give them wisdom, strength, and the desire to quit drugs. Then, contact them and offer your help. Make sure they understand that you are willing to do whatever it takes to help them, but that they also understand that they have a decision to make to stop using drugs.

Once they have made the decision to quit drugs, help them find a detox and/or rehab program. Accompany them to their medical appointments and offer them your help to face temptations. Help them find a positive activity to fill their time, like volunteering or playing sports. Stay in touch with them and encourage their progress.

“I love you my son. No matter what you have done or what you are doing, you will always be my beloved son. I will never leave you or forsake you. I know the drug seems to be your friend now, but it’s destroying you. Please, stop the drug and come back to me. I promise that I will never let you down or let you down. I love you with all my heart.”
