The seven thousand of Israel who did not bow their knees before Baal are joined by the faithful who suffer in all generations and who overcome apostasy, compromise and worldliness among the people of God, and who persevere in love, faith and obedience to God and his Word. They are the ones who refuse to be infected by the evil ways of the world, who have washed their clothes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb (Rev 7:14), who are persecuted for the sake of justice (Matt 5:10) and who resolutely remain on the narrow path (Matt 7:14; see ARTICLES THE SPIRITUAL SEPARATION OF BELIEVERS, P. 1654. and THE BELIEVER’S RELATION TO THE WORLD, P. 1830. ). Throughout the Bible he is the faithful and victorious remnant who is known to the Lord (2Ti 2:19). God promises to keep you by his power through faith (1Pe 1:5), and the Lamb will take them to heaven (Rev 7:17).
