Biblical phrases to overcome the death of a loved one

There are many verses in the Bible that are like balm: they ease our pain and help us begin the healing process. We can turn to God in the midst of our grief and share our sorrow with him. God does not reject us or rebuke us. He understands us, embraces us, comforts us and gives rest to our soul.

Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
(Matthew 11:28-30)

The righteous perishes, nobody cares anymore;
your faithful servants die, and no one understands
that the righteous die because of evil.
Those who walk the straight path die in peace;
They find rest on their deathbed.
(Isaiah 57:1-2)

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted,
and save those who are downcast in spirit.
