1. gemizo (gemivzw, 1072), to fill, or fully charge. It is translated as “overwhelm” in Mc 4.37, from the occasion in which the boat in which the Lord was traveling was filled with water due to the storm on the lake. See SOAK, FILL. 2. katakluzo (katakluvzw, 2626), flood, drown (kata, below, and kluzo, wash, or throw above), said, eg, of the sea). It is used in the passive voice in 2Pe 3:6, of the deluge.¶ 3. sumpleroo (sumplhrovw, 4845), to fill completely (sun, with, and pleroo, to fill up). It is used in the passive voice of a boat filling with water and, by metonymy, of the occupants themselves (Luk 8:23, “were drowning”); (b) compliance, with respect to time.
